We have cruised Disney but only on the Magic (2013 - Med, 2017- Northern Europe) and Wonder (2015-Alaska). We want to cruise again next summer and think the 7-night Western Caribbean on the Fantasy is the best option for us.

I am a bit overwhelmed with stateroom options - we know we want a verandah and we will be traveling with our daughters who will be 8 and 3. We enjoy the character visits, the girls like the kids club, and the adults enjoy the gym when time allows. For the cruise I am looking at, I think I have it narrowed to deck 7 or deck 8 but I have options on other decks as well- suggestions on which deck to choose?

Thanks for any advice or help.

We sailed on the Fantasy Western Caribbean last summer in a 5A on deck 10. My sons were 7 & 5 at the time. It was a great location and we have rebooked a similar cabin for the summer of 2018.

We don't like deck 10 for 2 reasons.

1. It is just below the pool so you get the noise associated with chairs moving around, running, pirate show, etc.
2. We like our room extra cold and the heat from the sun beating down on the deck right above you seems to keep the room a little warmer than deck 9 or 8.

Word of wisdom. .. whatever deck you choose for your verandah room (we prefer 8 or 9)., don't choose aft on the Fantasy. We prefer a forward stateroom but others like midship as well.

We sailed to the Eastern Carib on the Fantasy this past January and we have the Western Carib booked on the Fantasy for November 2018 - our kids are 6&8 (so they will be 10&8 by Nov 2018) and we have the same room booked - 5650. It's a 4E extended verandah on deck 5 aft - the location was excellent for the kids club, the verandah is AWESOME (so big!!!!) and it's at the very end of a dead end hallway. I know people have issues staying aft; I'm not going to lie, we did feel some vibrations but it was mostly when pulling into port and it honestly was not enough to bother us.

We are sailing in just a few weeks, and booked level 6, mid-ship (just aft of the center elevators). I can give more info once we get back, but I liked that it's just a quick run down the stairs to the kids club! I'm just hoping we won't notice the lifeboats too much, but I don't think that will be a deal Breaker!

My family has always done port side but will probably switch to starboard due to fireworks. I would go on decks 7-9. Its best to be in-between other cabin decks for noise. IMO, the best option possible would be deck 9 midship. If you really, really want to see the fireworks from your verandah, forward deck 9 is best. They place notes in some rooms saying don't go on the verandah because of the fireworks debris. So I would narrow it down to 2 locations.

Deck 9 mid: closeness and better location>fireworks
Deck 9 forward:fireworks>location

Hope this helps, sorry if it seems any bit confusing.

EDIT: BTW, starboard side has a better view of CC!
FYI for anyone curious if you are in certain starboard rooms (someone can say specifically if it is forward and aft or just one) you will receive a note in your room telling you NOT to be on your balcony during fireworks. Their is a risk of ash falling.

I think decks 5-9 all have pros. I agree with deck 10 sometimes being too loud with the pool right above.

Deck 5- same deck as kids clubs, closer to dining, shows, etc

Deck 6-close to kids clubs, theaters

Deck 7-fairly close to kids clubs, slightly less of a hike to pool/drink station/gym/pool

Deck 8-closer to deck 11 (gym/spa/pool)

Deck 9-even closer to deck 11, and still nicely cocooned from top and bottom with other cabins (unlike 10).

I've stayed in 7,8,9,10 and all were good. I'd recommend mid or fore unless you know that the aft vibration won't annoy you (if you would be located in one of the rooms affected of course).

I was just wondering about this, we'll be in a forward verandah room on deck 9 port side on the Dream.... do u think we'll be able to see fireworks? We've been in similar rooms in the past, but we've always been on deck for the pirate party. Wondering if we'll be able to see them from our room this time.

They shoot them off in an aft-starboard direction, so you'll be about as far away as possible lol.
If you definitely want to see them, I'd go up to the deck. If your not bothered then there maybe a tiny tiny chance you'll see them...

Lol Okay, thank you! Where would you say on deck we could go besides the party if we'd still like to see them?
