Hi, all. I usually travel with my mom and my DS (7 this year) to WDW for a week in the summer. We all wear some sort of disney apparel most days, usually t-shirts. We've never done those family matching t-shirts before and I just don't know how I feel about them. Some are not that cute and others are a little too cute, if you know what I mean :flower:.

This year, I thought we could try coordinating, family disneybounding, or even matching....

I know you guys have some super creative ideas about disney outfits so please share them here!

I know what you mean! I am not a fan of matching shirts and it is often difficult to find an outfit. There are plenty of Disney shirts outside of the parks that are better on the eye :cutie:. Try searching for LC Disney collection. She has some Disney clothes that are not so much of Disney in your face. For your DS you should be able to find plenty of option you could also try etsy for more fashion forward designs. Maybe try to go for a general theme maybe if you are wearing something of Alice in wonderland your DS can wear something mad hatter and your mom something queen of hearts, etc. If you have Instagram follow dressed in Disney there are great outfits there.

We all wear Mickey/Minnie shirts at the same time. There will also be days where we all wear Star Wars themed etc. Sometimes I pick Disney shirts that are similar in style and colour. Usually I just try to stock up on Disney shirts as we get close to visiting the park.

I did score some matching Incredibles shirts. But I mean were a family - and it's the Incredibles....

At MNSSHP - we did do a Snow White theme - I was the Queen, Hubby the Prince and DD Snow White. And on Halloween Day we wore Disney's Night Before Christmas shirts... but that's as far as I go. DD and I both had polka dots nails re: Minnie...

The Alice idea is awesome! As I'm sure you can tell from my picture :)

DS7 will love the star wars themed shirts but I"m not so sure about gramma! Similar style but different color is also a great idea. I'm going to look for something like that....

We do not do Disney shirts, but I always make sure we wear co-ordinating colors. The photos look so much better. If I didn't plan, I'm sure I'd end up with a jarring combination of DH is some awful plaid shorts, one boy in neon green, one boy in orange camo, and DD in something floral. Terrible.

When my family went for a week last Dec., we wore themed shirts to each park. Animal themed prints for AK. Star Wars for HS. Princess for MK. Mickey/Minnie for Epcot. Since we went at Christmas some shirts were Christmas themed. My dh wore Disney shirts and my dd's and I wore appliquéd shirts. I got some shirts from Etsy and from FB pages.

I made my own shirts using iron transfers and art from Darth_Kedric DISigns. Here a few of the designs

To help with colors I try to reflect where we are... so for MK bright colors for HS something retro and vintage for AK something travely earthly....A lot of times I would find coordinating shirts for the boys and work around that. I have had shirts made too. Walt Disney World 136.jpg Walt Disney World 237.jpg 001 (2).jpg Walt Disney World 020.jpg

This was me coordinating for the wildnerness lodge "fancy" restaurant dinner, we used this one for our Christmas picture.

Just a word of caution... my family would rather not go than wear matching/coordinating shirts or outfits.... so make sure everyone in your party is OK with it before you spend a lot of time and money! Have a great trip!!

This is so true. And conversely, my family doesn't think it's a real trip if I don't make them all matching shirts! :)

Such great advice. Good news is that gramma is on board and DS 7 is too, as long as he gets a say. We can't do every day but I'm thinking maybe one day wearing those "Best Day Ever" shirts with the Mickey as the period at the end of the sentence. I think we can all wear different colors and it will still look cohesive in pictures. I also think it would fun to disneybound as different characters from the same movie. My vote is for Alice in Wonderland and I think I have everyone on board. DS wants to be the white rabbit (he just wants a cross ode bag that looks like a big watch) and gramma is considering Cheshire Cat vs queen of hearts.

My sisters and I were just talking about matching outfits today! We're going to be adding Memory Maker for our next trip (in January), so I'm going to make sure our outfits are coordinated this time. I think we'll be doing both color themes and movie themes, but I haven't decided which specific ones yet.

I love those Best Day Ever shirts! I was planning on buying the baseball tee for my sisters and their friend that's going with us, but it's always sold out. :(

Have you checked Hot Topic yet? They have a REALLY large selection of Disney-themed clothing and accessories, much of which is specifically meant for DisneyBounding. They also just released an Alice collection for the new movie, and all of the main pieces are gorgeous!

Here is another shirt.
