I'm thinking about switching up my plans, but I can't make up my mind.
We get in at about 3 on 8/14. Was planning on doing MK and possibly the parade, so leaving the park around 9:30ish pm. It will be our travel day AND I'll have a 2 year old. The NEXT day, I have an 11:30 ADR at Sanaa. I was planning on doing AK that day, but now I might be changing my mind.

So here are my scenarios for 8/15:
1. We do rope drop at AK on 8/15, probably do the safari and leave to go to Sanaa. Come back to finish the park. AK is green, MK is yellow, and overall day is 8 for crowds on touring plans. (MK would be the next day, which is a 9 overall crowd day, same colors for the 2 parks)

2. We relax in the resort for the morning, because we were up late the night before. Go to MK after Sanaa and book all my fp for the afternoon, but miss rope drop and all the benefits of being at mk for the first few hours of the day. (AK would then be the next day)

So, do I miss RD and go to MK on an overall 8 day (a Fri) or get RD for both parks and be at MK for a 9 day (a Saturday).

What would you do?:confused3

I'd do option #1, especially since you will be there in August. It seems during the summer rope dropping parks and getting in as many rides as possible before the heat hits is the best strategy.

With a toddler, and travel and crowds and heat, I would not head to MK on arrival day. I would settle in, rest, nap or swin and then maybe head to WS at Epcot for dinner and a stroll and an early night. Start MK at rope drop your first full day when everyone is rested, its cooler and crowds are much lower for a few hours at least. This is our typical routine and it works well for us.

Does your flight land at 3 or do you anticipate arriving at your resort at 3?

If your flight lands at 3 I would agree with others and keep your first evening quiet at your resort and then start fresh and early with rope drop at MK the following day.
