Hello:rainbow:
My DF and I would like to honeymoon for a week in WDW. We are thinking a split stay would be best and would like to rent points. We're thinking of staying at WL, AKL, BC. We are also foodies and like the deluxe dining so that we can eat at signature restaurants more frequently. Help us plan our honeymoon trip. Any suggestions, comments, advice. We would like a decent amount of time spent by the pool. Also we will probably buy hopper tickets. How would you plan this trip?:thanks:

You want to stay at all 3 of those resorts or a combo of 2? How many nights? What time of year?

I know you didn't list it but I've always said if I ever did WDW for a honeymoon I would do one of the 1br cottages at BWV... sooooo super charming.

I'd like to stay at all 3. Not sure if that's reasonable. We're looking to stay in May 2018. I'm thinking 2 days each at AKL and WL and 3 or 4 days at BC. We were thinking studios.

Just my opinion but I would try the garden rooms at bring, they have an upstairs bedroom, and you walk thru a private little garden with a little bird house, you feel like you are alone because you are set aside from other S, no walking down a hall to get to room, private enterance thru a garden. But you have to book thru resort not points. I am going this may and got a very decent rate for rooms, although not that room. And just so you know each one would be a seperate ressie so you can do almost anything.

You can stay at three villas no problem. Last year we stayed at 5 villas. Our absolute favorite was WLV now BRV. Very quiet, peaceful, close to MK and resturaunts.

Next fav was Poly, probably BWV also, they were close to a park, poly had a better pool since they have one just for villas, although BRV has one it was not open last year when I went. BWv did not have one, or we did not use it. Poly had the best feel as theming goes, could watch wishes from the beach.

BLT was okay, but rooms were small and we only had two of us, the pool was nothing great but could walk to park, very little theming. And AKL, well I have very mixed feelings on this one. I do not like the fact that the drums played even after 10 at night. We had a standard view studio but had zebras and animals outside our window. I hated the pools which I will tell you in next paragraph.

As for lots of pool time on a honeymoon. We hate, hate hate the BC, it was filthy, full of laundry, trash and day old food in the hallways, everyday we complained and everyday it was there again. No other Disney resort does this. But when it comes to pools, SAB was the worst followed by AKL jumbo house. They were way over crowded, parents not watching kids at all, teenagers throwing wet balls hitting everyone and never saying sorry. At SABthey give buckets out at the quick food service and the kids fill them with water and dump it all over you, I don't mind splashing, kids do that and I'm at a pool, but I don't expect to have it done over and over and over again. With no parents ever coming to step in. Also I was hit so hard by a wet ball at AKL that I fell under water, and started an asthma attack, okay, kids will be kids, but it was done by 16 or older, and not one came and said sorry, or to find out if I was okay.

If money is tight, I would do BRV on Friday and Saturday, since that runs the cheapest, AKL would be the second cheapest and then BC which again I would never do (although there quiet pool is nice). If not renting a car, pack light so that you can easily put your things together and drop it off at bell service when leaving in am, have them move your luggage and go to park, do online check in, in afternoon when the room is ready you will get a text and go to that resort and your luggage will be ther, moving a lot takes time if you are not a light packer or if you don't just drop off luggage early.

I would probably lean to only doing two resorts, moving once is not much of an issue but moving twice could be more trouble than it's worth. Maybe try two nights at AKL and 5 nights at BWV ???? BWV is our favorite resort, two nice pools, boardwalk entertainment and you can walk/boat to EPCOT & DHS. Also, since you noted you are "foodies" you'll be able to hit all the EPCOT restaurants very easily. Congratulations & good luck !!

If you like sigs it make sense to try the one at the resort while you are staying there, so I would do Jiko at AKL Jambo, Artist Point at WL, and I would recommend either the Yachtsman at YC or walking over to Flying Fish at the BW. I prefer FF, but it's really a matter of what menu you prefer. I would look at Disney Springs or Tiffins in AK for a couple of the others. There is a new restaurant coming in Pandora at AK but no details on that one yet. California Grill is also great for special occasions, IMO. Hanging out on the Minder's lounge in the lobby of the GF and listening to the music is great too. If you want an extra special meal you can book V & A or a Chef's Table experience.

When renting points for studios its better to start that process near 11 months. You really need to be able to commit to what dates for what resort that far out and probably have a back-up plan but May isn't as difficult to book as some other months.

I don't know if you will have a car, but it does make split stays easier esp. if you want to swim or go to the waterparks on moving days. You can move your own luggage and hang out by the pool until your room is ready and still have extra clothes available. I don't know how picky you are on views, but picking a check out/in time of 6 am and picking early room availability as most important helps you get your room earlier if using this schedule. If you send your luggage with bell services and head to the parks until your room is ready than getting a specific view or location might be more important. I wouldn't schedule ADRs on moving days too early in case your room isn't ready on time.

Is this a first trip? If so I personally wouldn't recommend a 3 way split stay for a first time... but that may be me... I like to settle in, but at the same time I've had very smooth split stays with just a bit of extra work.

I second previous comments on BC regarding SAB. I know people love it... I think it would be kind of chaotic for relaxing on a honeymoon. With that said BC does also have 2 very nice quiet pools... one is right off the main walkway, and the DVC one is more secluded.

I would take a second look at Boardwalk... walking distance to 2 parks, great access to the BW dining & entertainment, and access to BC/YC & their dining options. I don't care for their main pool, but the quiet pool we loved, and spent a lot of time there.

Nope not a first trip. It will be a first for renting points/staying in a deluxe. I was thinking of BWI but SAB looks awesome. Obviously I've been hearing a lot of feedback that states otherwise!

I agree with a PP about doing only 2 resorts. I would choose between BC and BW. (we prefer BW and the luna pool.. not a fan of SAB..too hard to get there at "rope drop" in the morning to get a table, the sand bottom is hard to walk in. and you have to leave the pool area in your suit, plodding along bypeople waling down the promenade dressed for dinner.)
I would do 3 (or 4 if youcan) nights at AK, BLT, POLY or GF) do MK and AK those days. transfer to BC or BW, and save epcot and hollywood studios for those days, since you can walk or take the boat. if you have a hopper, you can always go back to AK to do waht you missed, if anything.

bw has espn club, the barkers on the boardwalk, and jelly rolls!! the dueling piano bar. (but you can walk to them if you are at the beachclub, also. which is why I wouldn't do both BC and BW, too similar of a location. the BC villas are kinda set back, so a longer walk to anything.

My DW and I split stayed at BC and AKL on our Disneymoon and think it's a perfect combination. BC, in May, will be right next to Flower and Garden at Epcot (we honeymooned in April and lovedo this aspect of it). The dining in Epcot is amazing, and both the Flying Fish and Yachtsman Steakhouse are located at adjoining resorts. The second part we stayed AKL, and that was our "wind down". Lots of afternoons spent watching the animals from our balcony. We did the Wanyama Safari, which I highly recommend if you want to get up close to the animals with a knowledgeable guide. The dining there is also incredible, and we often go out of our way on other trips to dine at Sanaa, Jiko, or Boma. I agree with three PP... one week and two resorts is good. Three will be more logistics then you should worry about on your Disneymoon. Enjoy it, and best wishes on happily ever after!
