We're driving DS to grad school in College Station soon. We're going to take a day trip to Austin. He'll be there for 5 years, so we'll definitely get a chance to go back, but at least wanted to visit Austin since none of us have ever been. If we got there around 10:00 a.m. and left around 7:00 p.m., can someone give me an idea of what we should do (knowing that we'll be back in the future, so not having to see everything). It will be me, DH, 22 and 18 year old sons. Older DS might want to do LBJ library. I don't want to drive all over the place (other than the library) -- would like to park and walk. What are some must-sees and places to eat? We're music lovers if that helps.

Always wanted to visit Moody Theatre; stands out as a premier American gathering place for music.

Congratulations to your son🎉

If you want to cool off from the Texas heat, consider Barton Springs on the west side of Austin. It’s a natural swimming pool in Barton Creek and it’s quite lovely.

That would be great -- there aren't any events the day we'll be there though. Thank you re: my son!

Thanks for the suggestion!
