Dh (31) and I (28) have a week long trip without our kids planned for 4/17-4/22 (Park days). I know this is an extremely busy time of year but we had to plan around my moms school break since she is watching our girls. We have already purchased tickets for DC, SW, BG and Aquatica. Our DC day is 4/22. We are trying to figure out the best plan of action for US/IOA tickets. We plan to do each park one day and still all day, opening to close. We will be staying off site. Do you suggest VIP tickets or base tickets with express pass? I know express passes have a high price that week.

It's going to be very crowded that week so if you've already purchased your Universal park tickets, I wouldn't spend the money on the VIP tickets...they include your park admission. If you get to the parks early, you can do some of the attractions w/o too much of a line and then you could purchase Express Plus passes later if you feel the lines are too long.

Just make sure you pack your patience and you might want to think about eating at off times to avoid some of the waits but it will still be very busy.

We have not purchased our tickets yet. Should we in advance?I know the express can be added at any point. If we were vacationing with our kids we would never attempt going at that time. We are hoping since we will be there opening to close we will be able to do everything at least once. Thanks for your help.

To avoid some of the lines getting into the park, I would suggest buying your park tickets and choosing the electronic pick up or Will Call option. You would go to the ticket kiosk outside of either park and with your credit card and confirmation number, your tickets would print out right there. There would be no need to stand in the ticket lines...just go straight to the gate.
