I have the planning bug - big time!

help me decide on a few thing.....

Here is my ADR plan:

-Crstal palace (dinner)

-Le Cellier (If I cannot get in - I am thinking Biergarten, and my husband would like to try Nine Dragons, but I have not heard good things - input, please???) dinner

-Chef Mickeys (br)

-mama melrose (fantasmic dinner pk)

-Boma or O'Hanas. We have been to O'hanas before for dinner and thouroughly enjoyed it - but I have heard such good things about Boma. We will be doing AK that day - so is Boma's closeby? dinner

-I had been thinking of doing 1900 for breakfast, but I am having second thought (seen mixed reviews) any other thoughts for breakfast - I prefer a buffet. breakfast

-Raglan Road (dinner)

What do you think????

Last question: We are on the Disnye basic plan - 1 TS, 1CS, I snack - is this enough food for the day??? We eat normal amounts (diners: myself, DH, DS (13), DD(10), DD(6)?

TIA!

Kathy

Regarding the meal plan-I've never heard of people not having enough. On the contrary, most people (myself included) have snacks and quick service meals left over.

Your restaurant selection look great. Crystal Palace is our hands-down favorite.

Here is my ADR plan:

-Crstal palace (dinner) Never eaten here for dinner, but breakfast is always yummy!!

-Le Cellier (If I cannot get in - I am thinking Biergarten, and my husband would like to try Nine Dragons, but I have not heard good things - input, please???) dinner Le Cellier is awesome! Biergarten is also good, lots of variety. Nine Dragons is ok, but it tastes just like what I can get from my local chinese take out place, but at twice the cost

-Chef Mickeys (br) Good food, kind of noisy though, and always seems to be packed

-mama melrose (fantasmic dinner pk) The meal package is a good deal, but we were disappointed with this location on our last trip - very crowded, slow service, and the food was not great (and lukewarm). I've heard mixed reviews on this place, so I'm hoping my experience was just a fluke

-Boma or O'Hanas. We have been to O'hanas before for dinner and thouroughly enjoyed it - but I have heard such good things about Boma. We will be doing AK that day - so is Boma's closeby? dinner We love love love Boma!! AKL is about a 2 minute bus ride to AK. You might also consider Tusker House if you'll be at Animal Kingdom that day, just for the convinence factor

-I had been thinking of doing 1900 for breakfast, but I am having second thought (seen mixed reviews) any other thoughts for breakfast - I prefer a buffet. breakfast I heard Cape May Cafe has a good breakfast buffet. I've only been there for dinner though so I can't speak from experience on that one.

-Raglan Road (dinner) This is our favorite onsite restaurant, we make a point to go during every vacation!

What do you think????

Last question: We are on the Disnye basic plan - 1 TS, 1CS, I snack - is this enough food for the day??? We eat normal amounts (diners: myself, DH, DS (13), DD(10), DD(6)? You will have MORE than enough food! Disney provides a lot of food, even with counter service. There have been many times that my body-builder boyfriend couldn't finish his meals!! And we almost always end up with extra meals at the end of the trip, we use them for sandwiches for the trip home.
TIA!

Kathy

Have a wonderful (and tasty!) trip!! :thumbsup2

I wasn't impressed with Mama Melrose.

Boma however........It was by far the best buffet and best meal I have had so far at Disney. I haven't eaten at Le Cellier (Couldn't book it) yet or any of the two TS restaurants save for the dinner shows. Do dinner at Boma rather than Breakfast from what I have heard. The dinner is so good

One tip I would have is to split a CS for breakfast and then one for Lunch.....that way you won't be stuffed going into dinner.

We were at EPCOT in January and also could not get into Le Cellier. We opted for the Coral Reef one evening and Chef's De France the other. Both were outstanding !! We had 4 adults and 2 kids and we tried several different things at both restaurants. No one was disappointed !! (My husband had just come out of the water for his Dive Quest dive right before dinner, so it was even more special. We watched other divers swim around us as we ate.)

We were lucky enough to get a front window table at Chef's. Not only was the food superb, but the view was awesome.

You can't go wrong with BOMA. I have celebrated my 38th and 40th birthdays there are they always have so many yummy things, I am sad I can't try them all.

We also ALWAYS go to Chef Mickey's for breakfast. (Actually we try to plan it around 10:30 for more of a brunch.) It is noisy but a ton of fun and my family loves "eating out" for breakfast. (Tons of delicious choices.) (Since you have kids, it is also a great place to see characters and get autographs !!)

As far as you DDP question, you will not go hungry !! There are also a lot of tricks to really make those meals go even further. For Table Service Meals, you are each going to get an entree and a dessert. That can be a ton of food right there. (Personally, I wish they would let you choose between EITHER an appetizer or dessert. The old plan, where you both, gave you almost TOO MUCH to eat.) We wind up usually eating only two meals a day, since the Table Service meals (as well as LOT of the CS meals) are so big.

Your snack credits can be used for more than popcorn and drinks. In MK, the Main Street Bakery allows you to use snack credits for a lot of their delicious pastries. The cinnamon roll is big enough to share for breakfast !! Each park has a similar bakery (Starring Rolls at the Studios, etc.)

Another meal big enough to share is the Rib & Chicken Platter at Cosmic Ray's (MK). It is HALF a chicken PLUS a half rack of ribs, veggies, & mashed potatoes. My DD7, getting tired of mac & cheese and nuggets while we were in EPCOT asked if she could get Lo Mein (China) instead. She received an adult portion, which she shared with her brother. (This happened almost every time the kids wanted to try something other than the kid's menu items.)

We never LEAVE ANY CREDITS behind. We had a few CS meals left on this last trip. Back to Main Street Bakery for a few sandwiches, sides, dessert and drinks that they packed "to-go" for us. We took them to airport and ate them as we waited for our plane. We also "spent" the last of our unused snack credits getting packaged Mickey Mouse cookies and rice krispy treats which my kids brought back for their friends.

We are going back in September and I can hardly wait.
You sound like you have some great choices selected already !!
