DH is a basic meat and potatoe guy. No sauces or unusual foods. We will also have DSS almost 5 and DD almost 3. We are staying at WL conceige level so most breakfasts we will eat at the hotel. What are some other good places to pick for ADR.

Liberty Tree Tavern is good, basic food at MK for table service. Lunch is ala carte, Dinner is a Character meal. For "Meat & Potatoes" type folks, Le Cellier at EPCOT would be a good choice. Brown Derby has some nice beef dishes, Hollywood & Vine and 50s PrimeTime would also be good choices at MGM. AK has no table service meals in the park, our favorite CS there is Tusker House, but a lot of folks like Flame Tree BBQ as well.

Buffets are also good choices for picky eaters.

If you are staying at WL, Whispering Canyon Cafe is good and the buffet at Trail's End is good for basic food.

Sounds like my family. We really enjoyed LeCellier, 50's Prime Time Cafe, Concourse Steakhouse and Donald's Breakfast at AK. CS - we liked Pecos Bill's, Cosmic Rays and the Cantina in Mexico at WS. Next time we are trying Rose & Crown and Sci Fi.

DH thought the food at Crystal Palace was too fancy, but I liked it. Wolfgang Puck's Cafe is good, but a little different. We did not like Earl of Sandwich (I know, I know - what a shame).

Hope that helps.

Rose and Crown has excellent prime rib and yorkshire pudding, but everything else (that I remember) on the menu was a bit strange (kidney pie etc.) If he's not going to try new things, this might not be a great place. Which is too bad, because the kidney pie and the bangers and mash were amazing.

Most of the buffet places would be good. Crystal Palace has some pretty basic food and the kids will love the characters.

Over at Downtown Disney, House of Blues was really great. You can get old standbys like cornbread and meatloaf, but it's a bit jazzed up. The cornbread has rosemary and maple and the meatloaf has yummy cajun seasoning. This way, you can "sneak in" some more exotic food.

Although I've never been, Earl of Sandwich is also getting excellent reviews and is very inexpensive. (It's so cheap, I wont even insert the usual "for Disney prices" here.) pirate:

Cant go wrong with a buffet for a picky family. That way, if each of your kids just wants to eat only 1 thing (mashed potatoes or mac & chz for ex) Thats fine. You and DH can still have whatever you want, without worrying about what the kids will get. They get it all, just like you, and pick and choose what they want :flower: I wouldnt be surprised if my 14y old went to a dinner with us for x-mas and just ate 2 plates of plain salad and cucumbers, and 2 plates of plain spag. with olives before hitting the deserts at our local buffet :rotfl:

Beaches and Cream, Yachtsman Galley, Yachtsman Steakhouse and Grand Floridian Cafe all would be good choices for your group.

Welcome to my family too! :goodvibes

My hubby is a plain meat & potatoes guy (no sauces, etc..) along with picky kids. I was really nervous since all the good steak places seemed to add sauce. I had read I could order without the sauce and I was able to do so just fine everywhere (I'm a plain food person too but not quite as bad as DH - I forgot the first night to order my steak without sauce and well it had a zing to it that I didn't particularly care for so I remembered from then on! LOL!). My 5 year old literally ate Mac & Cheese *every* day for Lunch & Dinner (it got to be a running joke - since he likes other stuff but for some odd reason he got on a Mac & Cheese kick there).

We stayed at the Contemporary and we were on the Premium plan so it affected our choses of places to eat.

We ate at the
Yachtsman Steakhouse

Concourse Steakhouse (we had 3 meals here just mostly because of where we stayed)

Liberty Tree Tavern

Fulton's (I really liked this place - it was comical though that NONE of us like seafood but were eating here).

Rainforest Cafe
Chef Mickey's

Tony's (this wasn't on my original list since I didn't really think DH would like it but we ended up there and I liked it).

Sci-Fi

Trail's End (that one wasn't so great but it was at lunchtime and not really a whole lot there DH liked).

Breakfast (I know you said you will be eating mostly at the conceirge lounge)
Crystal Palace
CRT
Princess Storybook in Norway
Donald's Breakfast

I hope that helps. I did try to stick to buffets or your more basic fare restaraunts. They were fine with asking for no sauces and just a plain old steak & potato everywhere.
