Help me pick an offsite DL hotel, please

Which would you pick for a couple looking for a safe, close, updated property with decent pool?

I just got back from the Tropicana and it was my second time there. I really like it. It's so close, just to the left when you cross the Harbor cross walk. We often got to security in less than 5 minutes. We've stayed twice in the Park View Suite. You get two rooms, two bathrooms, a king bed, a pull out couch, and a sleeper chair. You get two balconies overlooking DL, where you can see the monorail and the fireworks. It's right on Harbor so extremely close since at the front of property. Easy to grab food from McDonald's, Panera or other places. Convenience store right downstairs. The rooms are well appointed and very clean - the thing I care about most. Tropicana let us check in at 11:00 am last week for no extra charge since our room was ready!

We've also done Best Western Park Place Inn and have liked it very much.
The problem with the park view suite is the pullout sofa "bed". it is as hard as a rock!!! I slept on it for 2 nights in April, that was 2 nights too many. Never again. It's too bad because the room layout with two bathrooms and two lanais is incredible!

I believe the only hot items are waffles right now. But they have tons and tons of choices for to their items. Super good ham and cheese croissants, doughnuts, bagels, toast, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, cereal tons of different juices, cofffe, etc. I know there’s more that I cannot think of right now!
And fresh fruit….apples, bananas, oranges and cut up melon, kiwi, strawberries. Yummy!

Oh, and that delish cinnamon coffe cake they’ve added recently.

Certainly understood and a valid opinion! Our son slept very well on the pull out sofa chair thankfully. We slept on the pull out sofa a different time and thought it was fine, but we're usually so tired at DL we sleep well on anything!

The main king bed was very comfy.

me too, I was Disney tired and I did sleep some but it felt cement hard. I folded up the extra blankets to put under me, it made no difference

As an alternate, I would consider Candy Cane Inn, second floor room toward the back of the property.
Any idea what category that is?do prefer upper/top floors

Wondering if any huge difference other than possibly being a bit larger for more expensive units

Did notice one category they actually bring you a breakfast basket of goodies

We had a room at the back of the property on the 2nd floor. It was SO quiet. We loved it. It was the premium room, and they delivered breakfast. I really didn’t think that would be a big deal, but with 2 teen boys, it was a game changer! We had it delivered while my husband and I were getting ready. The food helped our boys wake up in a timely fashion (something that is not easy for them to do) and then they ate while we got ready. Then my husband and I ate while the boys got ready. It saved us some time and we absolutely loved it! Plus, you also get a late check out with a premium room, which we needed. ☺️

They have a little machine you can put the croissant sandwiches through to heat them up. Doesn't do a great job but it's ok. They have a make-your-own waffle station which is fun. You covered the assortment of offerings pretty well. They had cheese cubes also. And they try to keep it well stocked at all times during breakfast, though the baked goods may change throughout the morning, and they clean the tables as soon as someone leaves, sweep the floor as soon as there is a spill, and keep the place immaculate. Even though the pool is in the parking lot, it doesn't feel like that with all the furniture and plantings. It is a very pleasant place to spend time.

Well, was all ready to book Candy Cane, then remembered the last trip out to DL that I found a very good rate for Great Wolf using Sams Club travel portal.

Wound up booking a newly refurbed premier room (not the ones under the ‘noisy’ restaurant) @ the Grand Legacy. Located across from park, think it’s 5-10 min stroll to Esplanade?

Pool looks pretty nice, a must as we have time to kill for two party nights.

Saved over $800 off the discounted Candy Cane rate…that will buy breakfast every am for 6 mornings & then some lol

Now to find a shuttle from SNA. Normally, we uber or rent cars, no desire @ DL. Last visit, had difficulty grabbing uber from the airport. Not sure if a fluke or that’s standard issue there?

Any suggestions where we could grab water, snacks & soda near the GL? I suppose we could walk down to the CVS on Katella. Was hoping something closer or maybe use grocery delivery service there (insta cart? Or any other suggestions that would work?)

For transportation from SNA: when you walk out of the terminal, taxis are lined up and waiting. Ask if they have a flat rate, otherwise it is reasonable ~~around $45 or so (plus tip). Very easy as taxis are right there and a dispatcher will set you up right away.

For water, snacks and soda I would probably just walk down to CVS, but only if you would be able to lug the water easily. We did that when we stayed at Hotel Indigo and it worked out pretty well, but my DH was the one who carried the case of water so maybe his opinion would differ 😂

If you have an Amazon Prime membership, we have had good experiences with using their Fresh service to get water and snacks delivered. I also used Instacart once and it worked well. Both instances we met the driver during the designated time.

Uber down to the Target, it’s about $10 each way and it’s a regular grocery store, can get everything there.

Haha exactly what I thought.

I do use prime but never explored fresh. That might be the way to go for us

For Fresh, I did set it up ahead of time since we got it delivered on our arrival day and knew we would be more flexible (just went to DtD that day). Usually the availability is further out than Instacart. Also... I hope you have a great time! ❤️

Thanks & for the hints. really looking forward to seeing DL again

Of the hotels mentioned I'd go with Candy Cane. The premium room with delivered breakfast is very nice, plus that late checkout makes a huge difference.

We really like BW Plus Anaheim Inn, which is right across the street from the Disneyland entrance, but we did hear very loud noise from the bar at Grand Legacy.

Yes, it appears to be a lively, popular place. Adults only this trip, hope to visit one evening to catch FW. The reason we went with the further most premium rooms in back of complex
