Which entree should I have at Sanaa?

  • Tandoori shrimp-don't mess with success!

  • Tandoori chicken-it's great also

I hope I can get figure out how to do a poll. I just can't decide what to have at Sanaa when I go. I had the Tandoori shrimp last time and loved it. Part of me wants to stick with what I know I'll enjoy and have it again. But I'm also considering the Tandoori chicken or the Grilled lamb kefta. Which one do you suggest. DISers?

Hi Dorothy:goodvibes
Sanaa is my 2nd fav restaurant on property (just behind Jiko) I've been there so many times I've had almost everything on the meu, and the Tandoori chicken just so happens to be my fav entree there:goodvibes So that's my pick. But I have had the shrimp and loved that too, I'm a big fan of shrimp...I haven't had the lamb, but my father did last year and loved it. Scott and I love it here so much, we've picked here to eat after the wedding instead of Jiko (cause we're gonna do the Wanyama Safari on the honeymoon). Let me know if you have any other questions about Sanaa..Have you tried the bread service? It's amazing:thumbsup2

We were there last week and I had the tandoori chicken - it was amazing. My husband had the lamb and said it was amazing. I am not a lamb person, but tasted it and it was good. I also had the pork chop (another day) which was also amazing. And the salmon they had on the lunch menu was also delicious!

I guess that makes me no help! :-)

Make sure you try the tomato soup - it was outrageous!

I fell in love with their Tandoori chicken in July, so I voted for that! If you liked the tandoori shrimp so much, you would probably like the chicken too! Our server gave me the recipe for the tandoori chicken and I made it at home...of course I don't have a tandoor oven, but I used the broiler and it still came out delicious! DH loved it when I made it. At Sanaa, he ordered the short ribs and curry chicken and he really enjoyed his entree also. He got his with basmati rice and he liked that too. I got mine with the 5-grain pilaf and it was fantastic! :thumbsup2

Even though the Grilled Lamb Kefta is leading in the poll, it seems that the people who've had the Tandoori are very positive. And yes, athena, I have had the bread service(:wave2:). Not many people know this, but if you take the Sanaa tour (4:00, I think is the time), they give you (or at least did give you) the bread service appetizer at the end of the tour. Since I was the only one on the tour I took, that bread service plus a drink was my dinner.

Anytime I go to Sanaa I MUST get the tandoori chicken (and the chai cream for dessert)! It's excellent.
