Boma is actually located in Animal Kingdom Lodge, not in the Animal Kingdom Theme Park itself. It is just a short, easy bus ride over to the lodge, but you will definitely not be able to see the AK parade there.

If you can score a patio seat, R&C is a great place to watch Illuminations from. Coral Reef is actually located in the Future World part of Epcot, rather than in World Showcase, where Illuminations is featured. Coral Reef is also all indoors, so it would not be possiable to see Illuminations while eating there.

If your son likes the Pooh carachters, Crystal Palace would be a good choice in Magic Kingdom. The food there is served buffet style for all three meals. For some of Mickey's friends (but no Mickey) dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern is a good choice. Dinner is served Family Stye, and is a charachter meal. Lunch at LTT is ordered from a regular menu, and is not a charachter meal, but is very tasty. There is also the Cinderella meal in the castle if your son is interested in Princesses, or eating in the castle. Tony's town square is another MK TS choice. This is not a charachter meal.

You could also think about some of the MK resort retaurants if none of the restaurants in MK appeal to you. Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge, Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary, Ohana's at the Poly, and 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian are all good choices for kids (and adults ;) )

I recommend Liberty Tree Tavern or Crystal Palace. And make sure you go to City Hall to get a birthday button for your DS and ask for a birthday greeting from Goofy (via telephone)!

The buttons are also available from Guest Relations at the various parks. Also, be sure to have the b-day noted on your reservation at the hotel and restaurant ADRs.

I'd also recommend looking at the character selection for the meals at the various resorts to see if any have special meaning for your DS. Here's a link to allears.net that has character meals organized by character.

Hope this helps! :goodvibes

Im going to be eating at the Rose and Crown on one night and well hopefully get a sit outside so we can see Illuminations afterwards.
