We very uncharacteristically decided last night to cancel our lame staycation in two weeks and take our baby to Disney for his 5th birthday. Yes...booked Disney in two weeks. Anyway.....we are blessed to have a ton of credit card points to use so I'm not entertaining staying at a Disney resort like we have in the past. I am looking at continuing my rare spontaneous streak and splurging on the Four Seasons for the 3 night trip but my logical side is forcing me to think it through. We have two boys, 8 and will turn 5 while we're there. We'll do parks 2 days and have one pool day before heading to the airport. I want waterslides and a fun pool. I also want ease for mom and dad since we're throwing this into the middle of a work week and are just taking a few days out to celebrate him. I just don't want to splurge if it isn't truly worth it, as I've also been looking at The Grove Resort, Renaissance Orlando Sea World and Hilton Bonnet Creek. On the other hand, I'm not sure when else in life we'll pack up and go to Disney last minute (last minute to me anyway) and only go for three nights enabling us to be fancy at the Four Seasons? My husband could care less, so could yall please weigh in?! Thanks!

Is Wyndham bonnett creek on your radar?

we liked the Hyatt grande cypress, nice pool area.

gaylord palms on my bucket list their Xmas events may be ongoing by your arrival. Bit different this year due to covid

if u do pick the grove, make sure to post a review here please

I’ll add Marriott Harbour Lake. It’s a fun resort for younger kids.

Gaylord palms is still having Christmas ..
https://christmasatgaylordpalms.marriott.com/ You can still check it out even if you are not staying at palms.
I wanted to suggest JW Marriot. It is brand new and has great rates on hotwire. That was our original plan before our plans changed.

The Hilton Bonnet Creek would be great choice because they have a lazy river and great poolside service! I was just there .
I even love it for the Florida afternoon rain showers because they have lobby level bar area that overlooks the pool . I have stayed here many times and am disappointed if it doesn’t storm! Haha
I just walked over to Four Seasons. It’s a pretty walk and the pool looks really nice but I love the lazy river at the Hilton!

Also went to Gaylord for their Halloween activities and had fun ... definitely going back for their fun holiday activities and Xmas lightshows. Their pool has a surf wave pool ! I would definitely book an interior balcony room. I was jealous seeing how nice it must be with that room choice!

I just remembered the Hilton pool does have a water slide with lifeguard that stands there to monitor safety . I guess I vote for Hilton Bonnet Creek! They do have luxury bus service on schedule to WDW but did not use it.

Beach club/Yacht club have the BEST pool experience on Disney grounds. We’ve also stayed at Hilton Bonnet Creek...great lazy river. Better offsite locations I’d say are those across from Disney Springs...The holiday inn is our favorite. Great pools and easy walking distance to Disney springs every night. Have a blast!! We went on our sons 5th birthday as well...stayed at the Poly..,another great pool, but without fireworks not sure I’d recommend.

I second looking into the Disney Springs resorts. I’ve stayed at a few of them and love being able to walk to Disney Springs. Some have better pools than others, I know Hilton Buena Vista Palace has a lazy river, but I don’t remember the pool situation at the other hotels.

Splurge on the Four Seasons! It’s got an amazing pool area with a kid’s splash zone, water slide and lazy river. Service is unbeatable. We have stayed in a number of resorts (Disney and offsite) and this is our favorite. I will caution that this time of year can be colder and so if it looks like it’s going to be chilly I would stay some elsewhere. I don’t know if you can change your reservation a few days out but I would watch the weather forecast, I don’t think it’s worth the splurge if you can’t use the pools.
