coming down on Friday and the weather looks awesome. High 70's to mid 80's. Will shorts and Capri pants work for day? We have a few nice dinners planned. One California Grill - would a silver gray sleeveless maxi dress look out of place. It is a bit on the summer side. Thanks!

A maxi dress will be just fine for the California Grill. You may want a shrug or something over it, it dose tend to be a bit on the chilly side. As far as the day goes, what is the predicted low? If you are up early it may be quite a bit cooler than 70. I would take a sweater along for early morning or late at night.

One thing to look at is the wind...10 mph will knock the "feel" of the day back a couple degrees. Your maxi dress sounds great! But a sweater would be a good idea esp. for the end of the night. I'm the loon wearing shorts/sweatshirt/fleece headband/gloves in Dec. in FL. I love soaking up the sun, but always forget to go "home" and change for the evening!

Thank you! I will make sure to pack a shrug. Friday cannot come soon enough!!

I think you also need to pack for cool weather as well. The weather changes greatly quickly.

I would layer. I'm usually fine with capris but would probably wear a light jacket over a shirt sleeve.

We have gone this time of year for a few years and I can tell you from experience that you need to pack for all types of weather. On our trip two years ago, we experienced in 1 week: 80 degrees, 70 degrees with afternoon shower, 50 degrees, and a very chilly and windy upper 30s! We were not prepared for it to get that cold and we had to buy hats and gloves at the park for a rediculous amount of money to not be miserable all day.

So I would definitely pack a few things for cooler weather like a good fleece or a sweatshirt that can be taken off halfway through the day.

I'm here now. This morning it was cloudy and on the cool side. I wore jeans, jersey and a jacket. By 11:00 the sun came out and the jacket wasn't needed. It's supposed to be in the 50s tomorrow morning, so it will probably be the same.

We're going this weekend too. If the forecast holds (61-82 degrees) , I'm planning to wear capris and a summer shirt during the day with a light cover up for the evening. DH is planning shorts during the day and jeans for the evening with a sweatshirt or long sleeve shirt.

The maxi dress with a shrug or sweater sounds perfect for CG.

We are also coming this weekend. We are going to be doing the parks comando, so my plan is for jeans, a t-shirt, and a sweat shirt which i can put in my bag when not needed during the day! Can't wait!

This is something I am wondering about as well. Going in the end of January on a solo trip. Not sure what the weather is going to be like. Think I will be fine with capris and shirt during the day and add a sweater at night. Will pack extras though, such as a jacket and gloves.

Same issue here! We arrive this Sunday and based on what the temps are showing I was thinking capris and tanks/tshirts during the day and a fleece/sweatshirt at night. I usually visit in May, June or September, so I am not really sure what to expect or pack. 60 degrees here in Buffalo may feel different than 60 degrees in WDW. Either way, I am going to make sure I am prepared for all seasons by layering! Let the over-packing begin!

Light sweatshirt, hoodie, or jacket is needed this morning taking my kids to school.

By the way, whatever you are comfortable in to wear is fine (maxi dress). Florida is a super casual dress code almost everywhere. Women wear workout clothes to dinner.

We were there last February and will be there during Christmas week. Biggest lesson I learned in Feb. was to dress in layers as the temp fluctuation was pretty big. This time I'm bringing light weight pants/jeans that can be turned into capris as the temp warms up during the day and most importantly SOCKS! I wore flats and capris in Feb and my ankles were freezing! I will also bring a cotton sweater and a windbreaker. All things that I can roll and stash in a bag or wear around my waist as the temps warm up during the day.

60 degrees during the winter feels awesome ..... When you are walking from your car to a shopping mall, or when you are playing an outdoor sport.

... But set your home's A/C to 60 degrees and most people will think it feels like a meat locker, and need to bundle up. The amount of time spent below 70 can be a big impact. That's kinda why most people need layers when WDW is a high of 60, and need winter coats when it's a high of 50

I think your maxi dress would look great! I would bring a light sweater/wrap though to be safe.

I leave tomorrow and the weather looks great, but I took all the advice I see here and packed in layers. I brought some tanks, some tees, and sweatshirts of varying warmth to layer. I also am taking a lightweight North Face to block wind, because I learned the hard way that a very windy day at MK in the mid- to high 60s is BRUTAL and feels much colder.

I also brought shorts, capris that hit mid-calf, long jeans, and long leggings. I am wearing my Uggs down (hey those things are warm!) and packed sneakers in my bag and flip flops in my carry-on because it's supposed to be too warm for Uggs when we get there tomorrow.

I also brought a knit winter hat just to play it safe. Cold ears stink! I went in January twice and we had mid-80s weather and low- to mid-70s at night and it was gorgeous, however both weeks surrounding each trip were mighty cold! So layers for sure!

Here now and it was 59 degrees at 8 am and I was glad I had a sweatshirt with my shorts. At night, you will definitely need something warmer than just a sleeveless dress .... Bring something long sleeve to wear over that as I suspect you will need it. It's 11 am now and beautiful shorts and t shirt weather.

Another WNYer headed down this weekend. Is there gonna be anybody left in Buffalo?? :rotfl2: Looks like we'll have great travel weather. Hope it's still in the 50's & 60's when we get back. After last winter's 7 feet of snow in 24 hours, I need a break! ;)

And I agree with everyone else, pack a little of everything. You never know how the weather will change while you're there.

Heading down tomorrow and I packed a bit of everything. We are driving so extra hoodies will be thrown in the mini van. Can't wait! :car:
