Okay, so I've been thinking about what we will need to bring for our little guy at the parks each day. I've started to make a list of things that we will need to pack daily for Colby in the parks, but I don't want to under pack or over pack.

If you've gone with an infant, can you look at my list and tell me if I am forgetting anything, or if there is anything else we might want to add?

I am hoping to get an idea of what size bag we will need!

  • 8-10 diapers
  • Costco wipes pack
  • Change of clothes
  • Sunblock (checking with Dr. at 6 month appointment about what type)
  • Hat & Sunglasses (which he will be wearing but likely won't want to keep on!
  • Two Playtex drop in bottles
  • Inserts and nipples for 5 bottles + ziplock bag to put dirty nipples in
  • Powder containers with formula for 5 bottles
  • Jar food for the day with spoon
  • Bib and burp cloth
  • A couple of little baby toys to play with and chew on

Anything else that I should consider bringing? Obviously we will have a stroller that lays back (he sleeps very well in it too!) and I will bring my Sleepy Wrap in case he wants to be in it, but being that he will be six months on Wednesday and is already almost 20 pounds, I don't know if we'll be wearing him too much!

Here is what I'm planning to take for our trip next week:

- diaper bag
- 6 diapers/kid (I've got two and we're planning afternoon breaks, so I can reload)
- 2 drop-in bottles + liners (I'm taking a small bottle with dish liquid to wash the nipples on the road)
- 3-chamber dispensor for formula (or you can purchase the ready-load formula packs for on the go)
- medicines (tylenol, teething tabs, saline solution, booger sucker)
- small wipes pack (again, reload on break)
- waterbabies sunscreen
- hat/sunglasses
- snacks
- chew toys (teether, baby keys, and rings to hold them on stroller)
- drinks/water for bottles

That's my plan. Have you checked the ultimate packing list on mousesavers.com? They have sample packing list for day trips.

Good luck! :hippie:

Mabey something for mosquitos..rather than put on insect repellant on a baby you can use a dryer sheet. We use them all the time here in Houston where the mossies are rife. Most Moms here carry them in their diaper bags. You can either rub it on them gently or put one in the stroller and it keeps all sorts of insects away including wasps, bees, ants also. We have always used the bullfrog sun spray for our babies. It goes on like a light mist and lasts the longest. Its also not as sticky as the creams and they dont sweat with it on..kinda lets their skin breath. Its a tad bit more expensive..say $1 more than the others but in my opinion definitly the best. I use it on my 6yr old too. The other thing is if its hot, give them some water to drink. I think you said you were taking spare empty bottles for this. We will be travelling with our 9 month old this year too...these dang babies have the most luggage!! Dont forget to pack some "little swimmers" in your suitcase..that way you can take the baby in the pool to cool off at your resort if you leave for a break midday. We have had our baby in swiming in our pool since 2 weeks old and he loves it! Babies that age are great at Disney..they love looking at all the colors and lights. Have a great vacation!:flower3:

when we went last our dd was 8 months and I carried a rain cover for our stroller and I was so glad to..... :umbrella:Ever time it looked like it might rain before we went on a ride I would cover the stroller to keep from her seat getting wet, it also kept our bags an stuff from getting wet when we left them. You can't take your stroller in any buildings so if your inside you might not know if it raining so this really helped! Aslo, when we were at Epcot we had a down pour when we were leaving but still walking thru the countries she sat in her stroller dry as bone while we had our ponchos on still getting a little wet. This a must for us now! My dd is turning 2 this Friday and we will be heading to WDW on the 14th :yay::yay:and it was the first on my packing list!
I also had one of those slings that I could hold her if she didn't want to be in te stroller and this worked great for standing in lines and riding the rides like Jungle Cuise, Pirates,etc......Test trac:lmao: Just Kidding!!

Carry double the amount of wipes you think you may need for him alone. They come in so handy for messes, spills, stains, etc for not only your little guy, but the rest of the family as well.

Tylenol (pain releaver) for the adults!!!

A pack of bandaids (for everyone)

You may want to consider 2 outfits...or a spare onesie just incase the second outfit gets unwearable (DS was kign of blow-outs!)

I'd bring some infant motrin just in case and a light blanket. Otherwise you have exactly the same list that we had when we took dd at 4 month and we did great with that amount of stuff.

If he uses any kind of blanket/lovey, I would take that along as well. If you are taking breaks mid-day, I would only carry about half the amount of diapers, bottles, formula - you can refill at break time.

I carried a huge diaper bag the first 3 days when my son was 6 months and it really got to be a PITA after a while - taking it in/out of the stroller at every attraction. I really scaled back after that and carried about 4 diapers, small plastic container with wipes, 1 bottle (washed with soap and water in the restrooms/baby center after each use), enough formula for 3 bottles (that's about 12 hours worth), disposible bibs, a few jars of food/spoons and a change of clothes. I figured if we needed anything else, we would buy it or go back to the room.

My dd was turning 1 on her first trip - all I carried was a change of clothes, disposible bibs, 4 diapers/wipes, and 1 sippy cup. She was eating table food by that point and drinking regular milk which we bought at the parks.

A ziploc bag works well for wipes, it saves room and can be folded in half or shoved in a tightly packed diaper bag.

Thanks...I knew I wanted to add one to my post and couldn't remember.

Bags! Not only for the wipes, but for messy clothes too.

We took a lightweight blanket to cover the stroller a bit while DD was sleeping and also clothespins to keep the blanket from blowing away. Also, a jacket for the cooler evening. And we took a dollar store poncho to cover the stroller if needed, easily fit into our backpack diaper bag.

I second the extra outfit and disposable bibs. I used the disposable spoons as well. I would also suggest using a backpack diaper bag. The option of free hands is priceless! A great tip I got was to use two bags. I stuck the first bag with a few extra diapers, wipes, extra outfit, extra bottle, diaper rash cream, etc. under the stroller and left it there from when we got off the bus until we got back on. I just risked that it may be taken and didn't put in anything I couldn't live without. In the second I had all my stuff (camera, ID, etc.) and a few diapers and wipes, 1 bottle, food/snacks, etc., that one was always with me. It was great having to carry minimal stuff all day, but knowing I had all the extra, just in case stuff, if I needed it. I used backpacks for both and that made it really easy to get on and of the buses. I wore one backpack and took the baby, my husband wore the other and grabbed the stroller!

Hope that helps!

I am of no help, but simply subscribing here as we are taking our 8 month old, along with our DD, 6 years old, in June. This will be our 4th trip with our daughter, but our first with our son.....at 8 months!

Looking for some good info here as well. (Sorry to intrude)! :goodvibes

Lots of good tips. One thing I found convenient with the jarred baby food is to put the jar, a disposable bib, and a disposable baby spoon into a sandwich size ziploc. That way everything you need for that meal is together and the trash can just be put back into the ziploc and disposed of. Then you don't need to worry about washing a bib and spoon in the parks.

Also looking for some good info...as we'll be traveling with our 12 month old granddaughter and 3 year old grandson. I' ve already added to our list. :)

My kids are now 10 & 7 but we did Disney when they were under 1 year. A trick I found helpful is to take a bath towel from the room and use it to lay over the stroller to block out the sun or to reflect the sun off the top sunshade, or to lay on the seat of the fabric is a dark color. Sometimes this helps cool it down a bit.
Have a great time:)

when traveling with kids who will be splashing in the water bring a second pair of shoes like crocks or flipflops (if the original shoes are tennis)...nothing worse than kids whining about soggy shoes and socks the rest of the day.

I would pack 2 outfits - DD never went through more than one outfit a day at home, but at Disney - she easily went through 3 a day. She as 8 months when we went.

Disposable changing pads, bibs, table toppers, sippy cups and spoons. We usually brought the spoons and sippies back to the room for a good cleaning everynight, but it was nice to know that we could toss them in the trash if we needed to - and they're recyclable too!

I 2nd a pp's suggestion of putting a jar of food, bib & spoon in a ziploc for each meal. We did this and it made mealtime so much easier! No digging through a bag to find everything!

We also used a Rayshade and agreed that it was our best purchase for the trip.

We also used this stroller bag from BRU to keep a few diapers, wipes and changing pads handy. It holds a lot more than you would think. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3091044

Our 2nd favorite purchase was a couple of Sippy Pals. We used them to loop DD's toys through and then we'd attach it to the front of the stroller. If it wasn't for the Sippy Pals, we'd have spent our entire trip stopping and picking things up! They're great for use in restaurants too since you can attach them to highchairs.
