Supertramp and Doobie Brothers provide great travelling music!

I have found that I enjoy books on tape or story tellers-songwriters on the road.

On the road I enjoy:

Harry Chapin
Jim Croce
Suzanne Vega

A car song I love: NRBQ - "Ridin' in My Car" - "On the Road Again" Willie Nelson

Boogie: 'Hey Mama" - The Black Eyed Peas, "Roc Ya Body" by MVP Staff Lee

What gets us on the dance floor, the corny fools we are, it's a tie: Dancing Queen - Abba / Heavy D & the boyz "Now That We've Found Love"

Favorite 80's song - "Groove is in the Heart" - DeeLight (this might be early 90s though) - but I can still listen to Prince Raspberry Beret with enthusiasm!

When you get your list together PLEASE share, sounds like I'd enjoy it when I exercise.

How bout anything Disney..... or the wiggles.... or or or.... sigh.... I really need to start taking over the cd player in the car again.... perhaps in about 10 or 15 yrs I'll get to listen to my music again!!lol

I did a 70's/early eighties CD for travelling which includes: Cars by Gary Neuman, Funky town by Lipps Inc, Freak out by Chic(I think), Montego Bay by Amazulu, Mama Mia and Does Your Mama Know by Abba, Sweet Home Alabama by Lynard Skynard, Highway to Hell by ACDC(for DH!!!), tons of VanHalen, Magic Man and Baracuda by Heart. My kids love the dance music and only toerate the harder stuff, that is when they actually let me put it in the player!Have a great trip!:sunny:

Add in some Elton John, Disney music and I'm good to go. Just watched "The Wedding Singer" again last week ... it really does have some great songs on it.

We recently got married, and here are some of the songs on our reception suggested play list (the fast songs, anyways)

B-52s – Love Shack
Bill Haley - Rock Around The Clock
Bob Seger - Old Time Rock & Roll
Brian Setzer Orchestra – Jump, Jive & Wail
Christina Aguilera – Fighter
Christina Aguilera, Pink, Mya & L’il Kim – Lady Marmalade
Chubby Checker - The Twist
Chuck Berry - Johnny B Goode
Cyndi Lauper - Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
Elvis Presley - A Little Less Conversation (Dance Remix)
Jennifer Lopez - Let’s Get Loud
Jerry Lee Lewis – Great Balls Of Fire
Jimmy Soul – If You Wanna Be Happy
John Fogerty - Centerfield
Kelly Clarkson - Miss Independent
Kenny Loggins – Footloose
Kylie Minogue – Locomotion
Love Inc. – Superstar
Michael Jackson - Billie Jean
Pink - Get This Party Started
Robbie Williams – Rock DJ
Santana & Rob Thomas - Smooth
The Knack - My Sharona
Tom Jones & Mousse T – Sex Bomb
Toni Basil - Mickey
Usher featuring Ludacris & L’il Jon – Yeah
Village People – YMCA (guest request)

I'm also a big fan of Celtic Rock. A few of my up-tempo favourites:

Eiriksson’s Saga – We’ll Rant & We’ll Roar
Fables – Tear The House Down
Great Big Sea - The Old Black Rum
Great Big Sea – The Night Pat Murphy Died
Ray Lake – There’s Gonna Be A Time Tonight
Spirit Of The West – Home For A Rest

Footloose was the first one to come to my mind. Most of the songs on that soundtrack are pretty peppy.
We also just bought a Creedence Clearwater Revival Best of CD. It's got some great tunes on it!
