help me out what does bump mean?

Help me out I am new what does bump mean

Every time someone replies to a message it moves to the top of the board. So, if a message has not gotten any responses, sometimes someone will just respond with 'bump' to get it back to the top so that others will see it and hopefully respond.

Also sometimes a question has gotten answers, but the person that posted it wants to be first in line, kinda like Kindergarden
