Help me make up for lost time!

We sold our DVC in January, we were terribly depressed about it but felt it was prudent b/c we wanted to use the money towards a large backyard renovation project. We had also gotten great use over 3 years, with 6 trips under our belt. Our intention was to buy back down the road, maybe in a few years, but with much less points. With our current work commitments, we didn't anticipate a window to return to WDW for at least 2-3 years. I was so depressed that I checked out entirely--this is my first time back on the DIS in literally 8 months.

Long story short, our circumstances have changed a bit and we are ready to buy back in sooner than anticipated. We actually have a break work-wise through the end of the year, and are trying to cram a last minute trip in for early December!

But here is my problem: I used to be up to speed on every ongoing story, every magic band update, every park calendar, every rumor.....and now I'm back to being Joe tourist at square one. So I ask, what have I missed? What has changed or not changed in the past 8-9 months? Any compelling story lines I should be reading up on? Any changes to DVC that I should be aware of? I'm going to start digging through threads, but I know how quickly information moves so I was hoping somebody could tell me if there's anything we might have missed!

IMHO, you haven't really missed that much. Not in just 8 short months. I'd just start doing my natural reading of threads (that naturally draw your interest anyway) and you'll be back to Point A in 2-3 days... easily.

First thing that comes to mind is park opening at MK. Now guests are walked slowly down Main Street to prevent people from running to get in line for Anna & Elsa and 7DMT (which opened this spring). No more mad dashes to your first destination!

We love the Frozen sing along at DHS. If you do go in December, try to fit it in!
