Help me ladies, silly question inside....

I always, always wear skirts and dresses to the parks. I have several fuller (poofy) gauze dresses that end just at the knee, same with my skirts. I pair them with colorful fun men's boxers underneath. It is so much easier, cooler and comfortable for me to wear light skirts and dresses and wearing the boxers helps my thighs not chaffe and I don't worry about flashing anyone getting in and out of rides or if the wind blows. They also dry very quickly after Splash Mountain or GRR!

I wore a strapless maxi dress and a shrug on one of the evenings we spent in DCA, granted, we didn't go on a lot of rides. I did wear shorts underneath to avoid the chafing issue. It was super comfy, and felt a bit dressier.

We dress alike!

I like the tip that says to make sure when you sit you are only sitting on your skirt and no skin is touching the seat. I also like the legging idea, I have used that myself. If you think leggings would be too hot get tight exercise shorts, I like to wear those anyway to prevent chafing from my thighs rubbing together. The chafing thing is the only reason I don't wear dresses in the park.

I wore dresses a couple of times on our last DL trip and found it so much cooler and more comfortable in the heat. As far as I know, I didn't flash anyone either! Just use your judgement on rides that you should probably skip when wearing a dress or skirt. Wear shorts one day and ride those attractions that day instead.

Thanks everyone!:thumbsup2 I never thought about bike shorts-brilliant. I am glad to hear that dresses can work at DL, they are so comfortable and easy. I will get bike shorts and I probably will flash someone at some point, but it won't be as bad. Thank you thank you thank you!

I love this thread. My experience is not a pretty one and a skirt at WDW. My 1 yr old's diaper did not contain her BM and as I was holding her on my hip she it proceeded to get all over my shirt and pants and boy was it stinky. I came prepared with a change of clothes for her and a new shirt for me but I did not bring pants. Well the only thing hubby could find was a floral cotton Caribbean type layered skirt from the gift shop by POTC. It at least matched my purple shirt but it was windy and kept blowing up all day. It was a comedy of errors. I do plan on wearing some summer dresses to DL when we go in a few weeks because we are dining at the nicer restaurants and I like to feel girly and more dressed up.

I'm going Monday and I will wear a cool maxi dress or capris. I NEVER wear shorts above my knees. I'm 62 and my knees were always bad, after losing 90 pounds they look ridiculous!

I'd either wear capri's or a dress, possibly with bike shorts under it (although I like that boxer idea...).

It's really, really hot here right now. Plenty warm in the mornings and evenings...although the weather forecast is more favorable later in the week. It's generally significantly cooler at night and in the morning.
