Help me help my daughter with history

My daughter is doing a history project and, of course, chose Walt Disney. I'm wondering if anybody out there could recommend some good biographies on Walt that would help her. Specifically, she needs to develop a thesis about how Walt influence America.

I remember reading about a book that discussed his role during the communist blacklisting that sounded intriguing.

I'm kind of thinking we need to take a trip to WDW as part of her research!

I joined Disney Movie Club and purchased a DVD about the life of Walt Disney called "Walt the Man Behind the Myth". I love it. I know when I was in school we were able to use documentaries as sources for projects as well as books and articles.

I was looking for some material for my classroom and I just googled Disney in the classroom and some historical information came up. Try that.

Our school library has a Walt Disney bio. How old is your DD?

Should have mentioned her age...She's 11 and in the 6th grade.

It was a statement from New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. I don't have anymore about the source than that, but I hope it helps.

Wat Disney: Triumph of Americam Imagination was good and I read another from local library that was also very good. Both books were birth to death stories with all the details of his movies, life, etc.
