Hi Everyone! We just got back from a great vacation ~ 5 nights at Pop and 5 nights in Key West. We had FD and paid only $1660 for the five nights, five day pass and regular dining (not quick) for three of us, 2A/1J. My friend asked me to get the best deal I could for her in December/Jan/Feb for her family of 6 and I thought I could do it for $3200 or so.

I've spent hours online trying to figure this out but I can't get any closer than $3700. Anyone want to help a girl help a friend out?:laughing:

Here's the particulars ~ family of six, 3 adults (oldest child is 18), two juniors, a two year old. They don't care if it is two rooms or a suite that sleeps 6. Want a five-day non-hopper and the regular dining.

I've tried POP with two rooms and Music Family Suite. I've worked the RO numbers and the new package. Still can't do better than $3700 or so. Airfare from BOS is really good (less than $200) most Thurs-Tues time periods but in particular I looked at Feb 7-12 and some other dates that I can't remember. I had said friend apply for DV in case any other specials come out and also AAA.

If anyone is up for the challenge it would be much appreciated! If I don't get back to work now I'll be unemployed and won't be able to afford my own 2013 trip:rotfl2:

You did better than me. I could only get it with the same dates in an ASMu Suite to $4018. Sorry.

Is there any chance that one of the "juniors" is a small teen or just-barely 10 year old? Because they could "legally" fit in a POR room with the murphy bed. It would be an extremely tight fit and I wouldn't want to attempt it, but I think that might be the only way to get the cost within their budget. I checked for their dates and it would cost just over $3200 for the room, 6-day MYW base tickets and the QS dining plan when using the Jan-Mar discount code.

The problem is that they need either two rooms or a suite if they cannot do the POR room. And that really adds a lot to the bill. As blasphemous as it sounds, you might want to recommend an offsite condo to them.

I'm sitting on hold, so thanks for giving me something to keep me busy! I got to 3175 at All Star music, regular dining, 5 day non-hoppers for 1/31-2/5.

I changed the dates to a Sunday arrival and they save a little more.

Use the newest s/p/d deal: SPD offer

The challenge is that you traveled with a party of 3 - presumably 2 adults and 1 child, and included free dining. Your friend is traveling with (by Disney standards) 3 adults, 2 juniors, and an infant. The 3rd adult adds an extra cost to the hotel room. The 2 juniors are charged as adults for tickets and dining. The figures I'm coming up with are roughtly $1400 for park tickets (5 day MYW) and another $1500 for dining (DDP). That right there is $2900 which leaves less than $300 for the hotel, and even with good discounts you aren't going to get 6 people into a hotel room for 5 nights for that. With a party that size they either need 2 value rooms, or squeeze into POR Bayou room (which would be a TIGHT squeeze).

They can go cheaper off-site, or re-think whether the dining plan is truly a good deal for them. Can they do a suite or a FW cabin and prepare some of their own meals?

Good luck!

Nanhol ~ thank you so much, this is exactly what I was looking for! Apparently the SPD just hit my computer. I had been looking specifically for this promo and kept adding dining to the Stay and Play...its now available to me. Turns out both two rooms at Pop and the ASMU suite are within a couple dollars of each other. I'll play with the dates according to air fare but my friend (and I) much appreciate everyone's help::yes::

I've been to the World many times so I love to help newbies plan their trips! This friend is especially open to my comments and suggestions so it'll be just that much more fun to help her pick out restaurants and park attractions.

As it turns out, for anyone interested, this is very close pricewise to the FD package. I think this works out to be about $500 more because they have one infant so no ticket or meal costs.

Again, thanks, you guys are the bomb!

Now the question is ~ best to get two rooms at POP or one family suite at ASMU? Opinions?

I'd do two rooms at PopC or other Value instead of ASMu Suite. I'd prefer four Real beds vs fancy-pull outs. And I doubt I'd need the kitchenette with being on the Dining plan.
