Help me get ready for HHI trip (1 week away!)

Hope you have a great trip. Have not been to HHIR yet, but we are supposed to be there next weekend. Some have commented about no-see-ums, but I can't imagine they would be bad this early in the year. Would love to hear if they are so we can bring our skin-so-soft with us. If you have your computer with you on the trip, would love to hear a trip report so we know what to expect when we arrive.

I will have a computer with me and will let you know. We will be checking into HH on Sunday. We are spending a couple of days in Savannah first. A few more things to do before going to bed but I think we are ready.

We also bring binoculars. Great to look out on the marsh with, or to use if you go to Pickney Island.

Just this week took our last "Thunder 'n Lightning" pound cake from Signes out of the freezer and boy did we enjoy it. Definitely go to Signes. We always bring home lots of pound cakes (Key Lime and Thunder and Lightning are our favorites) and pull one out when we have a HH withdrawal moment.

I'm just curious about the taking home and freezing Signe's pound cakes. Sounds like an excellent idea! Are there some flavors of pound cake which are good/not so good for that. Notice I didn't say "bad for that", since I can't imagine anything from Signe's ever being bad! Glad to see there are some other SIgne's fans here-maybe some day we should have a DIS meet there!

I have also frozen other ones (I think chocolate and the pralines one), and they all freeze fine. Believe it or not, they have been the freezer since our trip last March (I bought a bunch because we did it also the year before and it worked well). We just love the Key Lime and Thunder and Lightning ones the most. We also bring them back for "souvenirs" for family and also friends/neighbors who have kept an eye on the house for us while we are away. Everyone loves them!
