Help me get over it

This is how I justified it - waiting in line in the heat for a very long time for pics and autographs or sucking up the cost ... I have PS for Goofy's and Ariels!

Ditto, as much as DH hates buffets, he hates standing around waiting worse. We do most of them each trip. I know it's more $$$. But not hearing DH complain??........ PRICELESS!! :thumbsup2

OMG I literally :rotfl2: reading this b/c my dh just said the something very similar about 30 mins ago.

You are in the same school as me. We have PS for Ariel's for breakfast and hopefully Fantasmic dessert (if the Vacation Planning people do their thing tomorrow). I was going to do Minnie's because I really liked it on our ABD, but the grandkids (especially the 6 year old boy who had a crush on Snow White) wanted to to do Ariel's again. :)

Definitely go back to Ariel's if you've been before the menu change.

We went in 2007 and were not happy. The food in 2008 was so good that my room mate actually asked for Ariel's to be put on our dining list again.

So we got PS for Minnie's and added Ariel's for dinner. The girls are gonna freak at 2 character meals AND dh is excited about not standing in line for PFF. He asked if there was a Tinkerbell/fairies character meal too lol.

Can you tell I've put on my big girl panties and am actually excited? :cool1::banana::woohoo::yay::dance3::cheer2:

My girls really want to do a character meal, but I can't get over the-mediocre-food-for-the-outrageous-price thing. We leave next weekend. Do you think I could even get a PS for Minnie's at such a late date?

Dh agrees w/me but is able to get past himself and see it thru the girls' eyes. Help me get there, please!
If you can not afford it then do not do it. if this will be your one big meal, and you can get by with eating a snack or even peanut butter sandwitches later on in the evening I say go for it. it will take the place of 2 meals for each of you.
But really, if its not in your budget then by all means do not do it. I have taught my kids the value of money from early on, things they really want they get for them selves out side of birthdays and christmas. Sopme times you just have to say no until you can afford it :) Have a wonderful trip!

Yes, we do have to do this trip on a budget (as always), but we'd never do anything we can't afford. BTDT and all it does is get us into trouble. I just hate wasting money.

what is BTDT ?

A little bit of background on me before I give you my take on the food at Ariel's Grotto.

In terms of meeting princesses, there's only one princess that is a priority for me to see at Disneyland or WDW. While she is not guaranteed to be at Ariel's Grotto (only Ariel is), I would eat there again for the food. They could take characters out and keep the menu and I would happily eat there.
