Help me get excited

You and your family have been in my thoughts and prayers since I first read your post a few days ago. :grouphug: I, too, think it is a beautiful tribute to your husband that you continue to take your girls to Disney World. It takes such strength given the loss your family has been through, to visit a place that celebrates dreams and wishes, but what a wonderful gift you are giving to your girls by keeping these ideals a part of their life despite the loss you have faced. As others have said, you truly are an amazing, unselfish, and inspirational wife and mother. What a great idea to surprise your family with MVMCP tickets, I was glad to read you were able to start feeling a bit excited for your trip and hope you are all able to share a few smiles while you are there.

Just a couple of thoughts:

I really liked the idea of doing something special for your husband's memory (like buying the ornament). A friend buys and gives away a balloon each trip in memory of her father. If it's a tradition, then you can feel like you are honoring the memories not fighting them.

And I'd do it early in the trip, so that you can relax afterwards and maybe start a tradition of having one morning where you do something special for or with one daughter and the next morning do something special for or with the other daughter (like buy a pair of disney socks, or take a picture by a Disney icon, or ride the boat from Hollywood Studios to Epcot or make a pin in the community center). Something free or cheap that you can do each year as a little ritual.

Best wishes for a wonderful trip.

I like 4Pluto's idea of making something special for each child however consider when you might travel with just the girls this would be difficult to do. Maybe something you do with the girls together, take a little time away from the rest of your group to be with just Mom and the girls special time. This way you could always incoroprate it into any trip. I like the idea of something free or inexpensive so that you don't have to worry about costs down the road to continue the tradition.
