Help me figure out why my strawberry shortcake doll's hair fell out while on vacation

My mom and I took a short trip to Mackinac Island for labor day weekend, we had an awesome time, due to it being a last minute trip we ended up getting the last room at the kewadin casino.

I packed the doll in my oversized Juicy Couture bag that I use as a travel bag for short trips. She smells good so I like to have her in there.

Last night I was cleaning out my bag and noticed red hair every where, it was coming from strawberry shortcake, all of her hair is falling out if you barely touch it more falls out.

Ive never seen anything like it,
my theories are

1. she got too hot in the trunk, but it wasnt that hot,
2. we had to get a smoking room so she had an allergic reaction
3. somebody came in our room while we were in the casino and messed up her hair
4 some weird plastic hair eating bug got in my bag

Anybody ever have this happen? any ideas why this happened?

Maybe she was so distressed from being in the room all by herself while you guys were having fun in the casino that she ripped it out herself?

I must honestly say that this thread cracked me up. I love the reasons people listed. We have some very creative thinkers on this DIS board. Anyway, um as for the hair... geez I cant even type it without giggling... anyway maybe the doll did get to hot from being in the trunk and thats why it came out. I honestly do not know.. U should email the pics to the maker of the doll and see what they suggest caused it,,,,,,

Could have been the heat. Caused the plastic to expand and the follicles for enlarge thus loosening the hair.

Or.

I did hear there was a serial hairstylist on the loose in Michigan.

I have a collection of older SS, her friends, and accessories. I don't take any of them on trips, but their hair all seem fine. Maybe it's because they are using the cheap, poor quality stuff nowadays?

I think she may have been made in China and all of the lead-based hair just decided to fall out so you don't have to return her.

me too, I have the purple pie man sitting in the garage, he looks fine as do all of my older dolls from years ago,

this is a first for me, I used to blow dry my barbies hair until it melted, never once did it fall out.
