Hi all, we are leaving tomorrow and are on the standard dining plan (1 QS, 1 TS, and 1 snack). We are three adults and 1 child under three. Here are my reservations, please help me figure out which to pay for out of pocket.

Chef Mickey's Dinner
Via Napoli for lunch
Akershus for Princess Dinner
Ohana for dinner
Hollywood and Vine lunch
Sci Fi Drive Inn

At this point, I am thinking Hollywood and Vine to do OOP and maybe Sci Fi or Via Napoli. Am I correct? Via Napoli we might just get a large pie and call it a day.

Thanks!

Via Napoli is a definite OOP. Sci Fi might be the other one depending on what you order. It would be a toss up with H&V. If someone wants something on the cheap side, I'd say OOP for that one person, but the others could be nice and share their dessert with them.

I would do Sci Fi. We are having to pay OOP for one reservation as well and Sci Fi seemed to be the cheapest for us!

If you are planning to share a pizza at Via Napoli then you will have to pay OOP. Unlike most other DW restaurants, VN is one restaurant that will not let you share when using the dining plan. In other words you cannot use 1 credit to feed 2 or more people there.

Sci Fi is another fairly inexpensive restaurant and a good place to consider paying OOP.

The rest of your places are fixed price meals. Here's a thread with prices listed so you can compare them with what you might be paying at Sci Fi and Via Napoli to see if any of them would be cheaper:

Sci-Fi is usually a good OOP for us because I usually just do an appetizer (I love the buffalo chicken) and a milkshake for lunch. But even with an entree selection, it is one of the lower priced TS options.

As already stated, if you do plan to do a large pizza share at Via Napoli, that would have to be OOP.

Sci-Fi is a great one for OPP in my opinion. I would skip dessert and use a snack credit in the park for a cupcake or ice cream.
