I am planning a trip in October for my family (me DH, DS10 and DD8). DH's sister caught wind and asked to join since she has always promised her girls, now grown women, to take them. So that adds DSIL, DBIL, DN28, and DN22 to the mix.

Now, it turns out that DH's other sister wants to send her daughter along. She will be 12 or 13.

I had planned on October 22-30 with 2 nights at universal and 5 at WDW.
Is there any chance that Free Dining will be offered at all during that window?

If I move the dates to the beginning of October is it likely free dining might be offered then? :confused3

Knowing DH's family I think having the QSDP would be helpful. We would pay out of pocket for maybe one or two TS meals. I want to avoid any debate over the costs of meals. :scared:

TIA!

Hmm... Free Dining you might have... Only time will tell...

It is very hard to say based on history since this last year, they changed completely the time they announce offers.

But on the other hand, they have done FD in October for the most part.

Note that Epcot resorts are a little hard to book however, due to F&W festival and the Gartner conference.

Also, under FD other than on values, you'll get Basic plan on mods or deluxe. On values, you get QSDP. Unless of course, they change this...

I wouldn't count on free dining and if it's offered it's a nice surprise.

we are also hoping for fd for oct. but we just did the qsdp this past dec. and LOVED it! we've done the other dp a lot in the past and it's so nice not having all the ressies you have to go to. we also did universal in dec and we had so much fun in harry potter!! we always have so much fun at univ/ioa with all the rollercoasters!!

Alright, I think I keep the late October dates in hope of better weather and it falling on conference week so the kids will miss half days rather than whole days.

I think the QS plan will be great for our group! I won't plan on it being free but I'll have all 10 fingers and toes crossed!

Yes, mousiemom we are very excited about Harry Potter. We have always spent one day at Universal because we love the coasters at IOA. Now we'll have two full days with FOTL and early entry into Harry Potter! I am sick with excitement and it's 10 months away!

Disney already offered free dining for late summer/early fall. Last day to book that was Dec. 20th. It's always possible they may open it back up for booking in late April or early May like prior years but never know. This is the 1st year Disney has allowed booking for FD so early. We booked FD for our upcoming early June trip.
