I'm hoping you ladies can help, I'm at a loss here. We're having our VR @ the Swan's Crescent terrace and I want to add some decor to make it pretty. I dislike arbors/arches so they are out (no offense to those whol do like them) and we did buy planting urns but they don't seem like enough. They look like this but the urns are a bit darker:

Would they look ok on their own or would they need pedestals like in the picture? I'm nervous about them falling over!

We've ordered enough rose petals to line the sides of the "aisle" but that is about all. Here is what it looks like:

The "aisle" leading up to crescent terrace:

my aunt has suggested using floral picks to hang some kind of floral on either side. I'm thinking kissing balls/pomanders might look nice? Something like this:

Something needs to up on that platform! It is too empty! I was thinking maybe something like this:

We're not Jewish though, would it be weird to still have a canopy? Would the canopy even look good @ crescent terrace? I can't picture it.

Are paper lanterns something to use instead of kissing balls? They would save you some money and you could tie ribbons to the bottom of the lanterns to give them a bit more color a movement.

For the platform: what about stalks of wheat tied with colorful bows or branches or banana leaves in tall urns? Less canopy, more height and visual interest. :confused3

Jilian sweetie - As you probably know, we used urns and pillars to create a kind of altar effect

I was very pleased with the way they looked and had no fear of them falling over. Having said that, our day was sunny and still with very little wind, and I agree that if you have a very windy day it would be a concern!! Crescent Terrace is also a bit more exposed that the West Courtyard is. I do think, however, and this is just MHO, that the urns would stand out more on the top of pillars.
I love the idea of the kissing balls lining the aisle. I think that would be extremely pretty!!
I don't think you need to be Jewish to have a canopy and think this is a lovely idea!!
Are you doing your own floral or bringing a florist in?

The lanterns are beautiful but I'm not sure they could be done @ crescent terrace. I guess maybe someone could climb a ladder and string fishing line up on the palms? The ceremony is @ 4 so we won't get the pretty lantern light :( That is beautiful for an evening ceremony tough. I like the banana leaf idea, I just need a way to add a little color in too. The more I think about it, the more I realize we'll need pillars to raise the urns if we use them. They are just too low. I still haven't heard back from the canopy rental company so I'm getting discouraged and thinking of trying to make the urns work. Thanks for the ideas ladies, keep them coming!

Hi Jilian! As you may remember, we're also having our ceremony at Crescent Terrace. One thing we discussed doing (cuz I wasn't sure I wanted pillars either) was setting urns with flowers on the edges of the platform so that they'd be raised from the ground.

Or if decide you need the pillars, but are afraid they would clash with the color or style of your urns, you could always drape them in fabric.
