I am taking my daughter in April. It is the first time I’ve ever gone with just her and I. She is disabled and has a wheelchair. Would Pop or Coronado be better for us? I’m looking basically for ease of transportation and just ease of getting around the resort. Does the skyliner make Pop that much better? The cost is the same Pop (preferred room) and Coronado (preferred room).

If Pop has shifted the main part of its transportation system to depend on the Skyliner, then I'd pick Coronado. If the Skyliner goes down, it's not like they can get another one up and running, especially if you are stuck on it when it stops. At least they can always get another bus!

By most reports, the skyliner runs at a high reliability rate, despite the issues. If you are going during the typical spring break then expect extra travel time, though with some cancellations due to virus concerns it may be less. If you are MK centric then would say Coranado but if half or more f your time is at EPCOT and HS I would say Pop.

I have stayed at both pop is my favorite by fair. Codo. Has a number of bids stop it is very soread out and take for ever to get anywhere is seem. I did not like it at all and my stay was free. I would stay at pop but this is just me

CSR has a much nicer pool environment than pop- and a hot tub (with lift).

I find the roll from the cabanas area to El Centro to be easy, especially if headed to bus pickup. And you're picked up there first, which makes loading with a wheelchair easier.

Is the trek from cabana area to the main pool with a slide easy? Probably the main reason I would want to stay at Coronado would be for the main pool.

Wow that's a tough one. I've stayed at those two resorts the most and on the terms of which is nicer - CSR is nicer. The theming and landscaping and pool - all are much nicer than Pop. I know my family would pick CSR over Pop - it's just so much less hectic feeling. I've never had trouble with the busses at CSR - never had to wait for a second bus. I try to request to be near whichever stop picks up first (it did not used to be the one at El Centro but near Casitas I think ...you'd need to check. I use an ECV and both are fine for getting around - I just enjoyed CSR more for the more calm atmosphere, upscaled feeling, etc. Pop is my fav of the value resorts and the skyliner is definitely a nice perk. The skyliner was so darn unreliable when I was there in October that I'd still be unsure if it would be worth taking Pop over CSR if both are the same price. I'd pick CSR - overall just a better experience.

I would scarcely call it a trek. Maybe 6 minutes walk? The new tower is a way of splitting the difference a bit. I understand they've added a bridge that shortens the walk from casitas to the Big Dig.

If you are planning to get to DHS by park-opening (for a boarding group), I'm not sure the Skyliner is running early enough depending on the DHS schedule when you are there. If that is the case, you'll still be taking a bus from POP, though you can take the Skyliner back to the resort later in the day. I would check the Skyliner operating hours to make sure. I wouldn't want you to choose POP for the Skyliner only to learn it wasn't running early enough/late enough for your plans.

Otherwise, the choice is basically do you want the extra amenities available from a moderate resort? Onsite TS dining, pool with slide and hot tub, etc.

Enjoy your vacation!

Doesn't Coronado have larger rooms too? And no Murphy bed?

Yes - exactly; Coronado is a Moderate and Pop is a Value, so the rooms (and bathroom) will be larger at Coronado, and all of the beds are on the floor where you expect them to be 😉

I would vote for Coronado only because I have been blessed to do many, many mother-daughter trips to WDW, and I always try to opt for a Resort where we can really *relax* and enjoy meals and the pool, and the atmosphere. We adore Pop; it will always have a special place in our hearts for many reasons, but it *is* busier, noisier, more crowded feeling and has smaller rooms.

TL;DR: If the price is the same, go for the Mod Resort (Coronado) over the Value (Pop)
