I took myself off of vicoden voluntarily in February. I had been taking it for years for severe back pain. I'm ok as long as I just sit in a comfy chair.

However, we are going to the World in little over 2 weeks. I still have refills available for vicoden and I am just wondering if I should get it filled for the trip.

I can't walk long distances without extreme pain, nor can I stand in a line, hence I have a golf chair - a 3 legged chair that converts to a small seat.

So what do you think, should I get the script for vicoden filled or not?

Well, I'm not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV... but I would suggest having any prescription meds that you might need filled before you leave for your trip. Once you're there and find that you do need it, it's going to be a hassle to get it filled then.

Two things:

1) Have you asked your doctor for his or her opinion? Personally I'd probably fill the prescription so you had if you needed it.

2) Disney does not allow chairs or golf chairs into the park (I'm assuming you're talking about something like http://www.amazon.com/Golf-Gifts-Gallery-Portable-Chair/dp/B000F3Q3GC ). If you have a mobility or stamina issue their standard suggestion they recommend you rent an ECV or a wheelchair. On this board I know we've also had posters who had no problems bringing in cane with seats (I think similar to http://www.amazon.com/Mobility-Products-Cane-Stool/dp/B002HYP2JG ) and certainly rollator walkers (which I think you can rent or might be just as cheap to buy somewhere) are allowed in with no problems.

better to have it and not need it then to be caught without it. The trip will be much more fun if you can enjoy it without pain.

My cane is more like the second one you posted. I've taken it 2 other times to Disney with no problems.

I remember your post from a few weeks ago. I still think you should go the the doctor before just starting back on the meds. The doctor most likely won't have a problem with it. Sometime when you re-start a drug you have taken in a while you get new or different side effects. Since sweating and hot flashes are listed, I wouldn't risk it with the Florida sun.

I have the same back problems and the also I would say I am very stubborn and want to "walk" out Disney. The reality is you really should consider the EVC or wheelchair. I think I am going to do the same this next trip coming up.

i think you should fill it just to take it. my dad has back problems and some days he wouldnt be able to go without his medicine. Also, talk to guest services about a pass that (from our experience) allows you to use a wheelchair entrance or get some kind of "medical" fp to come back at a later time. we did it for my mom after ankle surgery, sometimes we got to jump right in the fp line, sometimes we had to wait a bit to ride, other times the CM overrode the FP to give us one before our 2hr window from the last one. We've learned that it never hurts to ask guest services how they can help. it ended up with a pass that worked for not only my mom, but 5 others as well.

Well, I got the script filled last week. The death of our son about did me in, both emotionally and physically. Because of the stress, my back hurt worse than it had in a long time. I took it during the viewing and the service, and a couple of days after as we also has the innurnment.

Now that I'm over the worst, I am no longer taking it, but plan to take it to Disney. Thanks to all for you kind responses.
