We are a family of four, DH,myself and DS 2 & 8 years old. In the past we have stayed at POP,All Stars, and AKL. We are planning to stay at WL May 2nd thru the 4th then moving to Poly from May 4th to the 6th. This stay will be after a DCL cruise. The problem is I'm now second guessing the WL choice due to construction. I could switch the WL stay to SSR for $100 less. We will be arriving on May 2nd from our cruise at WDW around 11am and spending the rest of the day at the hotel. The next day may 3rd would be at MK, then the day we switch to poly will be a non park day. Also on our park days we will be returning mid day for a nap for DS. The room available at SSR is a studio like we will have at Poly later in the week. Any opinions on SSR would be so appreciated!

I would keep WL even with construction over SSR.

SSR just seems to far removed from the action.

I would also stay with WL. SSR is nice, but it's nowhere near as nice as the WL. As long as your in the lodge and not the villas, I think you'll be fine. Even if you have a villa, as I think you'll be fine for such a short stay. The pool is still open and recently underwent a renovation.

Both are terrific. If you're looking for theming and easy MK access, WL is your pick. The nice thing about SSR is that it IS a bit more away from all the action, and if Disney Springs is on your agenda, it's a very short walk. For a "hangin' around the resort" choice, def. WL. :earsboy:

I was at WL recently and we barely noticed the construction. It is such a beautiful resort and we spent a lot of time in the pool and again we didn't really notice the construction (although this was last month, hopefully its the same in May!) Also you have the added bonus of being so close to MK :)

WL, even with construction! WL rooms are so cozy with its wooden fine touches and details, the resort is anything but spread-out, boat transportation to MK CR and FW is so peaceful, CMs were very caring,...

Stay at WL for sure!

Thank you all so much! WL wins I appreciate all of you. We have wanted to stay at WL and the Poly for many years, so it is a dream come true! Thanks again!
