We are looking at taking a trip in September and usually stay at Wilderness Lodge or Poly. This year money is alittle tighter so I am considering PO Riverside, Coronado Springs or Caribbean Beach. I have a DD 9 so she like the pool with a slide.

Anyone like one resort better then another?

Thanks for your help!

both POR and CSR have slides that would appeal to her.

that say I think she would like the pool area better at CSR than POR.

although you might like the quiet pools better at POR - there are more of them.

We just returned from our first trip to the world and stayed at CSR. We had a wonderful stay. We used the quiet pool right by our room and also the main pool. My kids (11 and 6) enjoyed the water slide at the main pool. It had a nice hot tub which I used--it was too cold for my taste to be swimming, but DH and kids liked it! We stayed in Ranchos 7B, which was near bus stop #4, a quiet pool and the main pool. Several times we got of the bus at the main building and then walked to our room, which wasn't a bad walk. From what I have read, where your room is makes a big difference--it is a large resort. It was beautiful though and very peaceful when we were there. Hope that helps--if you have any specific questions, feel free to ask (you could PM me if you want). Diane

My DS and DD loved CBR. Wanted to go back there this year, but we decided on WL instead. They are redoing the main pool right now. It is said to be done in September. The new pool sounds as if it will be great. It is going to have a zero entry and I believe to have a theme about pirates again. You can check out my pictures below from 2006. We stayed in Aruba and it was just a quick walk across the bridges and Caribbean Cay to get to the food court at OPR. It wasn't a bad walk at all and very relaxing.

CSR! Great pool/slide combo, awesome transportation and terrific food options.

Stayed at PO once, CS once and CB three times. It's my sons' favorite--even more than the luxury resorts. However, if the pool will not be ready by the time you go, that would be a bummer. If that was the case, I would recommend CS. Similar layout to CB--just different theme.

port orleans was nice, pool wise I didn't see much of the main pool, but the one by our room was nice and quiet. There were a lot of families together, not just kids running crazy. Regardless I think you'd be well off with any of those choices.

We have always had a great time at the CSR when money is a factor. They have a nice pool and the slide will keep your DD very busy.Make sure you get to the pool when it first opens one morning because the opening pool ceremony is a fun treat for the kids.:woohoo:

Thank you for all the great info. I'm leaning towards the CSR because of the pool and the free health club. My husband is a workout freak and has to have his stairmaster everyday to keep his mental sanity. Looks like they have lots of great food options too. Now we can only hope for the free dining this year. :goodvibes

Our favorite mod is the PO-R by far. There is so much to do there. They have fishing, horse drawn carriage rides, big arcade, nice playground, plus that nice boat ride to DTD. They have a nice family friendly lounge with a great entertainer who plays the piano and tells jokes. We brought our kids and had some appetizers and listened to him play. Also, since PO-FQ is a sister resort you can use their pool with that cool dragon slide.

Good choice! Have a great trip!! :thumbsup2

DEFINITELY CSR! Its the only mod I have stayed at, but my sister took her son to CBR and HATED IT. She said she will NEVER go back there! Everyone I went with said they would return to CSR. We also were in Ranchos 7B and it was near a bus stop so it was very easy. We also did the pool and it was awesome, especially looks cool at night!

I'm a CBR girl. We'll be staying there for the fourth time in April. For me the tropical theme is an additional relaxing treat. I've visited POR, it was pretty, but as long as I'm going down to Florida I want to see those palm trees! I must say that CSR looks interesting. Maybe someday we'll give it a try.

Disney's moderate resorts have themes.

I would choose the theme that most appealed to my family and try it out.

CBR has the wonderful beach area.

POFQ has the New Orleans look.

POR has the Ab section and the Mansions with the deep south look.

And CSR has the southwest look.
--------------------------------------------------------
Here is my list of the differences-----

Mod vs Mod

'CBR is 340 square feet and the other mods are 314.

They are basically laid out the same but CSR only has 1 sink (the other have 2 sinks.)
CSR does not have a luggage seat.

Here is the layout of POR:

POFQ is not as spread out as the other mods or the values.

POR CBR and CSR are very spread out.

The mods have pool slides, a hot tub and a sit down restaurant (POFQ doses not have a sit down restaurant but shares with POR.)

POFQ and POR are concidered sister resorts so they share pools.

When staying at one of these resorts you can use the other resort's pool.
You can also refill your refillable mug at either of the food courts.

Some of the rooms at POR in the AB section have a trundle bed and can sleep 5.

---------------------------------------------------------
Transportation.

CBR has 7 bus stops.
CSR has 4 bus stops.
PO has 5 stops. 1st stop POFQ then 4 stops at POR.
POFQ & POR do have a boat to DTD.

----------------------------------------------------------
Elevators

CBR does not have elevators

CSR has elevators

POFQ has elevators

POR the AB section does not have elevators
POR the Mansions does have elevators

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Have fun at Disney!:wizard:

You didn't suggest it, but our absolute fave mod is POFQ - loved it, everything was close together and there is a slide there.

CSR is a great choice. We love this resort! Some much to do, great food, and the best transportation.

We stayed at CS this past September and LOVED it! I, too, looked at Buzz2001's information and felt really good about making the decision to stay at CS. You'll have a great time!

The pool, the health spa, the landscaping... Brilliant!

Super choice in CSR. We are staying there for the 7th time this September (and DH even asked if I wanted to stay at Poly for our 25th--and I said nope--love the CSR!).

They all have pool slides. My favorite is POFQ. It is the smallest resort and also has a great water taxi to DTD that you do not have another stop like you do at POR. It stops at POFQ on the way to DTD and on the way back.:thumbsup2
