Hi guys, as a few of you know, we are planning to go out to WDW in Sep/Oct 2010 and I really want to stay on site this time, as I never have before (and to hit up some free dining ;) ).

The problem is so many of the hotels look amazing!

So I'm hoping you DISers can help me to decide!

Could you tell me 2 things:

1. If money were no object, which resort would you pick to stay in?

2. As money is of course an object, which resort do you think is the best value for money?

Looking forward to hearing all your views :)

Thanks so much :)

Hi,
If money were no object I would go to The Yacht and Beach Club, it is our favourite place to stay. It has the best pool area, its central to Epcot, Hollywood studios and Boardwalk. If I maybe did not have as much to spend our next choice is Pop Century, its good value and fun. I would look out for some good deals for the Beach Club though, we are going this september and got a really good deal!!!
Happy planning:rotfl:

Best resort, hmm tough one as enjoy the Epcot area resorts of BWI and YC. But I would say if money no object would try the Contemporary or Bay Lake Towers. If on a budget then Port Orleans French Quarter is nice :)

Claire ;)

Money no object would have to be Magic Kingdom view at Contemporary as there is just something about being able to walk to Magic Kingdom for the day, or even just for the evening.

We took the boat from Downtown Disney to Port Orleans once and that resort looked quite nice. Pop Century always looks quite a fun place to stay in photos as well.

If moneys no object then it would be Contemporary 14th floor or GF, we stayed here for our wedding and it was amazing (we are planning on doing the same places for our 5th anniversary but need to save a little first. lol)

For a moderate priced resort our favourite place is Coronado Springs and for a reasonably priced deluxe our fav at the moment is WL.

blow the budget would be - wilderness lodge

hang onto those pennies - would be POFQ, it's quite romantic

Money no object- Polynesian.

On a budget- Pop

Although you won't get free dining if you stay in a value so then I would choose Port Orleans

1) Poly MK View room (or Club level - but DEFINITELY MK view!!!)

2) Coronado Springs (LOVED their food court and really quiet compared to CBR - I think that was because its a conference resort)

Good luck choosing :thumbsup2- I had to book in the end, as I was going MAD changing my mind all the time :scared1: !- they should just have one hotel it would be so much easier then!!:lmao:

Well based on the only one's I have stayed in so far - Animal Kingdom Lodge, Yacht Club & Wilderness Lodge, of these three I would choose WL. However that may change in September as we are staying at Old Key West & the Polynesian. I have always wanted to stay at the Poly & WL, so ask me again which one I prefered when you read my trippie. ;)

I really don't think you will go wrong with any of the Deluxe resorts. Just choose the style/interior you & Em would prefer. :thumbsup2

I can't help with Moderate or Value as I haven't been to any of those resorts, but based on what I have seen/read I think I personally would opt for Port Orleans FQ & POP.

Even if money was no object I would still stay at the Beach Club Villas (or the Yacht or Beach Club with a Boardwalk view), I much prefer the Epcot/DHS area resorts over the MK ones. This trip we are trying AKL, I would love to stay concierge there. I'm not sure on the value/moderates, we haven't stayed at them. For us AKL as is the best value for money as it is the cheapest deluxe.

Money no object: AKL Savannah view/Contemporary MK view/Boardwalk split stay :thumbsup2
Best value: Only stayed at POFQ and considering you pay a premium for it being Disney and all that goes along with that we thought it was good value due to the fact that we got free dining, not sure I would have said so otherwise. Trying CSR this year (free dining again) so it'll be interesting to compare the 2 moderates.

Blow the budget - Poly/AKL

Value - POP

You can't go wrong on property though in my experience. Be warned though - once you go onsite you'll never want to go off!! :rotfl:

I really liked the Polynesian, but even if money were no object, I still don't think it's worth all that much more than the Pop Century or Carribbean Beach. If you're really on a budget, then definitely go for the Pop, but CBR was fantastic too - beautiful grounds and excellent bus service :goodvibes

Money no object: We went around a lot of hotels at Xmas friendliest staff were Poly and Wilderness Lodge would try either loved the feel of both. AKL Savannah room for view but bed not comfy enough for me. 3 nights was enough. GF not my sort of place, Contemp I took a total dislike to, not seen a room but never want to.

On a budget, I would stay offsite or get a fantastic rate onsite like we have for OKW this August as cheap as a value. Didn't like ASMo at all.

Not a big fan of onsite, I prefer to stay off and go in and look at the resorts, great resorts but staying in them doesn't do anything for me. Inside the rooms still only somewhere to sleep.

Money no object - WL,the whole set up was just breathtaking!
Budget - CSR,you will need to go to a minimum of a Mod for Free Dining anyway,on this/last years offer OKW & SSR were the better deals but probably worth crunching the No's now.
SD:thumbsup2

Tough decision!!!

Money no object - Grand Floridian: it looks so lovely and great being that close to the monorail.

On a budget - Port Orleans: boyfriend and I stayed there a couple of years ago - rooms were a good size, resort is fairly quiet and very pretty!

But I agree there are so many to choose from

blow the budget- mk view club level and poly- stayed here for free on our wedding and it was fantastic!
Budget- pop we planned our weddig staying here and it was fantastic

We are staying at pofq this year with free dining so cant wait

Thanks for all the great advice guys :disrocks:

I always thought AKL would be the winner for dream resort, but apparently not!

At the moment we're thinking one of the Port Orleans resorts as they look really nice and we still get the DDP there. AKL would have been my favourite pick but it looks like its gonna cost twice as much as PO, and it just doesnt seem worth spending so much more. And the PO resorts seem to be a popular choice here too which must be a good thing.

Wayne, as you suggest the OKW deal was really good so I'll def be keeping an eye out for a repeat of that for next year :)

Blow the budget - Contemporary MK View

Value for money - any of the mods but our favorite is CSR

Don't like the look of the values they seem too 'busy' when we have visited and we like a little bit of calm away from the parks.
