Help me decide where to stay

I am headed to disney the second week in September and am having a hard time deciding where to stay. We are going with 2 young children and plan on spending a lot of time at the resort...using the pools and doing the activities. I am torn between BCV for the pool and the boardwalk, or the WLV. My dd,2, loves animals and the outdoors so I thought she might like it there. Anyway, my only issue with staying at the wilderness is, from some pictures, it seems like the rooms are dark and dated. Any opinions on which resort has more activities for little ones would be great.

I would call MS first and see what is available as you are less than 5 months out BCV and VWL book quick as they are smaller even considering September is very slow.
If they like to spend a lot of time in the Pool then BCV is ideal if you want to be close to MK the VWL but all three resorts have plenty to do for children and I do not think they will be disappoited at any.

The rooms at VWL may be darker, but that is the theme there. They are far from dated.

You are closer to the MK at VWL - only a quick boat ride away.
