We will be staying at DLR Monday-Saturday. Monday we arrive at LAX at 6:15 pm, so that day is a non issue. I'm sure we will eat at Goofy's Kitchen, since it is in the hotel. Blue Bayou is on my list. We ate there in 2004 and I did like it. Is the Monte Crisco only on the menu for lunch? We will have a car, but would like to keep meals close to where we are staying.

Saturday- maybe character breakfast at PPH before we leave for Santa Monica

We actually like late lunches or early dinners. Any help?

We will stock the fridge with some breakfast foods.

According to the 4/07 menu for the blue bayou, yes the monte cristo is only served for lunch.

The hotel is called Disneyland Hotel (DLH, not DLR). DLR is Disneyland Resort, including all 3 hotels, both parks, and Downtown Disney. Just some quick clarification.

The Monte Cristo sandwich is only on the Blue Bayou's lunch menu. But it is served at Cafe Orleans right next door for dinner. I highly recommend eating at places in Downtown Disney because it's just a minute's walk from DLH. Some good places there include:
-Rainforest Cafe
-Naples Ristorante and Pizzeria
-Jazz Kitchen
-Tortilla Jo's

If you want to drive a bit, a couple brand new restaurants opened up down the road at the new Anaheim Gardenwalk. Bubba Gump's Shrimp Co., Cheescake Factory, and California Pizza Kitchen.

Thanks those are some good ideas. Yes, we are staying at DLH, just a little too quick with the typing! We love the Cheesecake Factory!

Well once your in the park and you want a quick snack, you have to eat a Bengal Beef Skewer. Its at the place across from Indiana and the Jungle Cruise

OMG there's a CPK near the park?! How far??? We are going to meet up with my sister in law and her hubby while we are there (they live like 10 mintues from the park) but we are staying on site, flying in, and not driving at all so we won't have a car. But we LOVE CPK. (sorry that was kind of an interruption on this thread)

I also like the Rainforest Cafe! It is a great experience if you have never eaten there before. I don't know if they still have it, but they used to have a dessert called the volcano. It was brownies overflowing with chocolate and goodies. When you order it, whatever servers are avail come out together yelling "Volcano"! So much fun, LOL!

If CA Pizza Kitchen is at Gardenwalk, and I think that's what the post was saying, it's actually walkable. A long walk, especially after a meal, but many do it. Gardenwalk is on Katella, past one of the parking lots (Pumbaa lot, maybe?). So you go down harbor and east, I think, on Katella. People who have regular "meets" at the parks from another board have done that walk for Cheesecake Factory more than once.

One of my favorite places is Cafe Orleans. We have a Ca Pizza Kitchen, Mimi's, and Cheesecake factory within 10 minutes from my house so those won't be any special treats for us. CO and BB are our favorites at DL. Oh and the fruit carts....crazy but fruit is just better in DL. Not to mention those frozen bananna's. popcorn::

Have to add my vote for Wine Country Trattoria in DCA and Storytellers Cafe in the GCH.

On our last trip we strolled up Harbor to the area where the Hyatt and Crowne Plaza are, and there's a Buca de Beppo, Red Robin, Joe's Crab Shack, and Outback Steakhouse in close proximity. May be a long walk for some but a short drive or cheap cab ride.

Storyteller's Cafe in GCH for dinner. You can make a PS.

Carnation Cafe in DL for dinner. You can make a PS.

Whitewater Snacks in GCH--grab a takeout dinner on your way out of DCA, and eat it in your room later--they have yummy sandwiches.

Taste Pilots Grill in DCA.

La Brea Bakery in DTD for early lunch/brunch.
