We're planning a trip and thinking about moving (back) to May instead of our current August reservation. Right now, I'm debating between 3 standard rooms at Pop Century vs 2 rooms at CBR. Three rooms at Pop would be $200 more, and CBR would likely have the bigger room discount when those come out later, but we would obviously have more space for everyone if we were spread across 3 rooms at Pop.

Traveling party: DH, myself, our 4 kids (girl 19, boy 17, boy 12, and girl 10), and one friend (girl 20).

My main goal is to make sure everyone has a bed. My 12 and 10 year olds would fit the pull-down beds at CBR just fine, so that would be the plan there. At Pop, the 19 and 20-year-olds are girls and would have one room to themselves, and then hopefully we'd have connecting rooms for the other two rooms where dh and I would sleep with the other 3 kids.

Are there Big Tour Groups in May? That might make CBR more preferable. I know OPR just got a big remodel and I would love to see that, but we do also love Pop Century. Decisions, decisions!

I guess all the girls could have 1 room at CBR and you and DH could share with the boys. Personally I prefer the moderate over the value resorts, but new Pop rooms are nice. However with Murphy bed down it takes up a lot of room and the table.

Unless I were planning to spend a lot of time at the resort, I would go with three rooms at POP.

I am kind of leaning toward CBR. I think our group would rather have 2 rooms than 3, since we're pretty much one big family. If we had another married couple or something, the 3 rooms would obviously make more sense.

Even if they cost a bit more? I mean, it's only $200, but that would buy a couple Mickey bars (or maybe just one at the rate food prices are going up!).

I'd save the money, but I am also not a POP fan at all. I enjoyed CBR much more than POP.

Have you considered renting a 2BR DVC villa thru David's or another point broker? Most are set up to have a master bedroom with a king bed and two queens in the second bedroom. Then the living room area has a pullout couch and usually some sort of pull down single bed. May is a lower demand DVC time so it might not be too difficult to get a room. Just looking Saturday to Saturday in late May renting points would be somewhere between $4k to $5k for a 7 night stay which is roughly $450/night. Not sure how much your per night is now....but if anywhere near that I'd consider renting the points.

Most DVC Villas do not have 2 Queen beds in the 2nd bedroom. Most( OKW is an exception) have 1 Queen bed and a pull out sleep sofa.

You are right that not all two bedrooms have the two queen beds. Some are dedicated and some are lockoff. Almost all of my stays have been dedicated 2BRS at BLT and Grand Floridan...which do have the 2 queens...which is where the confusion on my part came in. Either way, lockoff or dedicated, for the makeup of the OP guests I would think either one would work.
