OK, I'm struggling here big time. I can't decide what to do for vacations. I really want to go on a cruise in Oct with my hubby (4 day carnival), but then again I would love to take the kids (and me of course) back to Disney over February vacation. I also want to do something in July when the kids are gone at camp for a week.
The problem of course is money!!! I can't do it all...I wish I could, but I can't! :(

So, what should I do??????? I haven't mentioned Disney to hubby yet (he's still a little burnt out from our recent trips....WIMP! ;) ), he only knows my thoughts about a cruise. He hasn't said yes, but he hasn't said no either. I would love to go away just the 2 of us, but family time just slips away so fast as the kids get older. One will be a senior next year so this could be it for awhile.......

Of course there is still my July dilemma. There is never a time when the kids are all gone at the same time so I thought I would take advantage of it. But that's coming up real soon with little time to save.....

AAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH....what to do!!!!!

help please......

:(

I would concentrate on the family vacation this time, because with a senior, it wont be long before you will be "empty nesting", and will have all the time you need to "be alone" together.

Why don't you take a Disney Cruise. A 4 day is only 400$ something and a 3 day is less. There are activities for the kids (where they are watched) so you can have alone time with your hubby, but also lots of family stuff to do. That way you guys get to do "grown-up" stuff, the kids can do kid stuff, there Teen stuff to do...but you can still do things as a family!

I thought about that but truthfully a Disney cruise is verrrrry expensive. We could do it cheaper on a different line. The kids too are so much more into the parks and rides that I know they would prefer that.
Besides, one thing DH and I have always said is that the first cruise we ever take will be without the kids. Sounds selfish, but we do everything with the kids so we need to do something just "for us". After we take ours, then maybe we'll take them. ;)

I agree with this. Maybe take a family vacation and then a smaller "just you and your DH" trip over a weekend.

After my brother and I moved out, my parents went on tons of just the two of them trips. :)

We were facing the same dilemma, with our eldest a senior next year also. We decided to do WDW again in aug. I would have liked to go later in the year (we ALWAYS end up there in the dead heat of summer)...but she took on a heavy workload for her senior year and I didn't want her to miss school. And next summer will be chaotic with college just around the corner... We gave the kids the option and they decided WDW (hey, they get it honest;))

So, for us, it seems only natural to get in that last big family trip before my babies start flying the coop....

Whatever you decide, I hope you have a great time!!!

It's so hard isn't it. Last year was a killer for me because we left for a family vacation to Disney the same day my oldest left for boot camp.
He was supposed to go with us, but he had to leave earlier than what we had planned.
I guess that's why I have such a dilemma....
The biggest problem tho is convincing my DH once again.....
Afterall, it is pretty expensive and this is something I have to save up for by myself. It can't come out of the household funds.....:sad2:
