Help me decide what to do for Thanksgiving Dinner

Two years ago we went to Whispering Canyon Cafe for Thanksgiving. We made a lunch reservation. They had a wonderful meal, with Turkey as one of the meats presented on the platter. It was a fun place to have our Thanksgiving meal. We'll be going again at Thanksgiving this year and haven't decided yet where to go. Our children would probably do Whispering Canyon again, but I'll try to convince them to try something new. ::MinnieMo

Any idea on what you paid for your Thanksgiving dinner at WCC? We have T-day ressies there and I'm just trying to add it into our food budget.
Thanks!:thumbsup2

We are planning to arrive in WDW early on Thanksgiving Day.
Originally DH had said we should just treat it as any other day, we'll just order Pizza or something. Me, I am not happy with this idea.
I have a few ideas about what I may want to do and some questions to go with them, that hopefully someone out there can help me with.

1. Because I don't know yet if we want Thanksgiving Dinner on or off property, my first question is ....Are there any good off-property restaurants for Thanksgiving Dinner?

2. If we eat on property, I am thinking a resort would be the best choice, given the crowds at the parks. We are staying at Pop Century, which is CS only, so that is out. What is your favorite resort restaurant for Thanksgiving dinner?

3. If we go to a resort restaurant I was wondering if we can also enjoy some of the perks of that resort while we are there. Like if we choose Boma At AKL would we be allowed to go look at the animals on the property while we are there? Or if we went to POFQ could we bring our bathing suits and use their pool even though we are guests of Pop? My DS5 is dying to ride the Dragon Slide just once. And if yes, what other resorts should I consider that may offer duel benefits. I'd like to make the most of our arrival day.

4. Any other ideas? If you have been to WDW on Thanksgiving, what did you do?

TIA for your help!!!

We are also going for Thanksgiving this year....

We chose Citricos at the Grand Floridian. I forget the website, but you can google "Thanksgiving Restaurants Disney World" and you should be able to see the lists and menus of what you can have around the World!

While some restaurants were offering turkey and fixings only, others also allowed you to order off the regular menu as well as a tradition turkey meal or had a limited menu in addition to the turkey dinner or had no turkey dinner at all! Look at the menus and you should be able to decide from there..

Good luck and reserve quickly. Thanksgiving day reservations started over a month ago!!

Hi, i am the OP.
I am now arriving the day after Thanksgiving, but I like the Turkey Leg idea!!!
And we are still doing WCC based on a PP's advice.

We just made our Thanksgiving week ADR's a few days ago and I just knew we were not gonna get anything because we were a month past the 180 mark. Anyway we compiled a list of exceptable restuarants (8 in all) the first on our list was Chef Mickey's. My children love this place but I was thinking there was no way but I called and the CM (he was wonderful by the way) says that I should play the lotto because there is one table of four available for the entire day and he knew that was not there earlier in the day (said it was a cancelation apparently) Before I made the call I told my DH the perfect time would be around 6 and this one lone ADR was available at 5:50. I was absolutely thrilled to say the least!!! If you don't get what you want at first keep calling!!!!!

Edit: this particular ADR was for Thanksgiving Day!
