Me, DH, and our 3 year old our planning a last minute trip to WDW…well last minute for me. We’ve been to WDW a lot that I want to take this trip easy and spend more time at hotel our choices for hotel are:

POFQ - I like that it has water slide, splash pad area, playground, and boat to DS. But it is the most expensive ($600 more than ASMo and $300 more than AOA)

AOA-little mermaid - it has a splash pad area but not as exciting as POFQ. It has the little nemo play area (my kid has played on it before). The hotel has good theming and it has skyline access for HS and EP…but we are going in spring so it will likely rain a lot and idk how often we’d get to use sky liner

ASMo- the cheapest of the three choices. So, we’d save quite of bit of money that could be used for souvenirs or something. The pool and little splash area isn’t super exciting but it seems okay, it has a playground, it has good theming, but we’d be taking bus everywhere and I worry if there is enough to do in evenings to hang out at resort

I’d skip the Little Mermaid room.

If you really want to save your money, stay at Movies. You could always walk to the other AllStar resorts in the evenings, and check them out if you’re looking for something to do.

I’d personally splurge and stay at POFQ. It’s just overall, more peaceful and relaxing. Especially if your plan is to spend more time around the resort.

I think the All Stars all have a movie playing each night (probably not going to help with a 3 yo) and a place to make s’mores at night (though I’m not sure if that is every night). If you, or the 3 yo, are going to use the pool slide, I think that can be a nice bonus. If you are really going to go to DS, I’m sure the boat ride would be more interesting to a 3 yo compared to another bus trip. I guess you need to decide if POFQ has $600 bonus to YOU. The kid ain’t gonna care.

I agree that I think the choice here is between POFQ and Movies. The LM room only has the Skyliner over Movies.

I’d go with POFQ since you’re planning time to relax and enjoy the resort.

AoA is fun too but since you’ve already been it’s likely more exciting to stay Port Orleans.

One thing that ASM has is the ability to stow the murphy bed. I really love the refurb they did there. Rooms look so much nicer and spacious. Maybe try a loose outline of both trips, one at POFQ and one at ASM using some of the extra $600 toward something(s) special. Compare and see which looks more attractive.

POFQ is one of my favorite resorts. I would not recommend The Little Mermaid rooms at AoA. It felt like a long hike at the end of the day, and seemed much louder than any other stays I've had. It also had terrible phone and wifi reception.

If you're taking it easy and will be at your resort more, POFQ hands down. You can also mix things up and use the POR pool too. You can take the boat to Disney Springs, which is really nice too. You'll also have more dining options than the values. At AofA, the little mermaid rooms are a hike from the main lobby. If you plan to drive to the parks and not use the skyliner at AofA, that could be a moot point for transportation but it's a good 8-10 min walk from the LM area to the pool/main buildings. Just something to consider if you'll be on property a lot and while $300 is nothing to sneeze at, imo, that amount is worth convenience along with the other amenities that POFQ offers. ASMo preferred isn't bad as far as location, but if you are planning to be at your resort a good bit, I'd spend the money at POFQ.

I don't see where you are saying how many nights (to split the savings) or how many park days you are doing. Both those would totally factor into my decision.

The original plan was 7 nights with 7 day of park (3 days at MK, 2 at EP, 1 at HS, 1 at AK) passes (not hoppers). We’ve gone often enough that we don’t feel the need to do open to close park days.

We are now doing 8 nights still with 7 day of park passes but we will get in late the night before originally planned.

We have decided to stay at POFQ. ASMo was no longer available and the benefits of POFQ outweighed the savings between POFQ and AOA (which wasn’t as significant as ASMo)

Oh that many nights for the money would be a hands down POFQ ~ good choice!!

The POFQ pool is very much geared for young children, especially now with the water splash area. It is a great resort for young families. Any time you want to spend time enjoying the resort I would stay moderate and up if it's in the budget. And you have the boat to DS which is quite enjoyable for all ages and opens up easy access for lots of dining.
