DH and I just booked a PS&D trip for 1/5-1/10. We're staying at Coronado Springs, and have the DDP. The cost is $1905 for the 5 nights/6 days.
I had gastric bypass surgery a few months ago, so there's no way I can eat the food on the plan. I crunched some numbers, and found that if we stay at Pop Century instead (with the room only 20% discount), and just paid for our food, it would be approx. $1700, which includes TS and CS meals, but no snacks. I also calculated staying at Coronado Springs and paying for our food, and it's $2061, so more than what we already have booked.
We stayed at Coronado Springs before and loved it. It was quiet, and the resort was beautiful. Not too Disney-ish.
When we go with the kids, we usually stay at Pop Century, which we love as well, but there's more noise (and the cheapest room we can get is a pool view room).
So my dilemma is:
Do I pay the extra $200+ for the moderate resort? Or, do I go for the savings and stay at the value resort? What would you do?
