Chef Mickey's or 1900 Park Fare. We did CM in 2008 and thought it was pretty nice. Food was good (breakfast) and the character interaction/atmosphere were great. Was thinking we should try something new and read good things about 1900PF. Just wondering if anyone has been to both and can give me some feedback. We probably aren't doing dining plan this time, so this is going to most likely be our only character meal this trip.

I think a lot has to do with what characters you want to meet. We've been to both and enjoy both, but for different reasons. Chef Mickey's is always a staple on our trips as this is where we have dinner for DS bday each year. We love the interaction with the Fab 5 and we enjoy the food (even though it seems a lot of people on the DIS don't). We really enjoyed the food at 1900 and the interaction with the stepsisters was second to none. I think there maybe more of a selection of different types of food at 1900 and it's really nice to have the character meal with Cinderella, the Prince, the Stepmother and Stepsisters. 1900 didn't make our list for our May trip only b/c we wanted to try some new fare, but it certainly was not due to a lack of quality. In essence, I don't think you can go wrong with either, but do you want to dine with Disney's finest or with Disney royalty?

Is there a reason you are limiting it to these two choices? We've always enjoyed Chef Mickey's for breakfast (we won't do the dinner anymore ); we've not done 9100 Park Fare but I have several DIS friends who have done it recently and loved it -- said the Mad Hatter is a hoot. Our personal favorite is Crystal Palace for breakfast in the Magic Kingdom or Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club.

We have eaten Bkfst and dinner at both and felt like the food at 1900 PF was much better at both meals!:rotfl: We also enjoyed the atmosphere at 1900 PF a lot more!:cheer2:

We have had dinner at both. The food is good at both. I think it would really come down to which characters you most want to see. I found the character interaction at both the be wonderful. I really like the step sisters at PF. It was really funny to watch my son dance with one of them. The girls love meeting Cinderella.

Katmark- I guess those are just the two that stood out in the reviews and appealed to me the most. Plus we already know we like CM. I suppose I'm still open to other character meals considering we're not going back until spring 2011!

Can't stand the food at CMs, it doesn't appeal to my family. This visit we're planning to try to take DD14s 15yo BFF, who has never been to Disney. I booked 1900 Park Faire (love both meals there, have dinner booked) and also CP for dinner (hard to believe but we've never eaten there). All the kids in our party are teens, though, since yours are younger you probably need to have the Fab 4. 'Ohana breakfast with Lilo, Stitch, Mickey and Pluto was quite good when we had it fwiw.

There seems to be a lot of love for the Crystal Palace. Is it the food or the atmosphere?
