Help me decide please!

Hi guys! My dh, ds (4 yr old), and myself have planned a last minute trip to Disney for Jan. 1-5. We have APs so we got a great rate on our room but I keep going back and forth on whether or not to purchase the dining plan.

The QS plan won't be available for this trip so we will get the reg. dining plan. We did the deluxe during FD in September...WOW!! We realize the place is gonna be packed and I wonder if there will be any way to get any ressie's this late in the game...I am a planner and this is about to kill me...I plan my meals at the 180 day mark usually...lol!

So...is it worth the 90.00 per day for our family to get the reg. dining plan this trip?? Can we get any decent in park ressies at this point?? If not, then should we just pay out of pocket? I need to add the plan before Christmas according to the CM so I have time to decide but I need to budget the money! Any advice is appreciated! THANKS!!

I would pay and get the dining plan. It's such a great convenience. Maybe plan out what places you would eat at each day and then call and make ADR's (seeing if they even have anything) then use the menu's online and see how much you would spend out of pocket. That would give you an idea of how much you would save with the dining plan, or if you could even get the ADR's you want.

I would first decide where I wanted to eat a TS meal and then call ASAP and see if you can get ADR's. I think it is late at this point. YOu do not have to have actually purchased the plan when you make your ADR. Then based on ADR availablitiy you can move toward your decision

But does anyone think that it would be cheaper if all we do is counter service meals?? I'm adding it up w/ the menus on websites and it looks like it won't be cheaper so...am I right that even if all we eat is counter service, we are still better off and saving $$ on the reg. dining plan?
