Hi All! I have pretty much decided we do need a stroller for our trip in January, but I can't decide whether to rent one for the whole trip from one of the recommended offsite companies, or just to rent one each day in whatever park we are in. We are going for 8 nights, with DS4 and DS9, their first trip there ever.

DS4 often gets tired walking so that's why we figure we will need one. We do plan on taking mid-day breaks at least most days.Do we want to drag it on and off busses and such, or just get one in the parks? We are staying at BCV if that factors in any. We are flying so don't want to mess with bringing one.
Thanks!

Renting offsite is much cheaper and the strollers are much nicer - better steering, more comfortable, etc. It is super easy to pick up/drop off with bell services. Get something super easy to fold up, like a Baby Jogger City Mini and I don't find it too big of a deal on the busses. So offsite stroller rental gets my vote :)

I agree! You might find the 4 yr old will fall asleep in a rented stroller too!

For your AK day I would skip heading back to the resort for a rest. There are two great shows and if you time one in the afternoon the 4 yr old will be rested and out of the sun. I'd pick Finding Nemo the Musical as you get proper seats not a bench.

Thanks!! To you and ABTwinMommy...which offsite do you guys use and have been happy with?

I totally agree with offsite for the reasons mentioned & also because DD still used it a lot at your son's age for the long walks from the park to the bus stops, while waiting for buses, etc. She often cat-napped 15-20 mins at a clip during those times too - I guess she didn't feel like she was "missing" anything once we were out of the parks so she would relax enough to sleep for a bit. At times it was a real attitude adjuster! ;)

I personally think the parks' strollers are better suited for kids around 5-6 yo... they are uncomfortable and hard (think hard plastic chair on wheels) with no storage (no cupholders or easy way to carry bags, etc.)... but it does help their legs get a break especially if you are criss-crossing the park a lot, and I always found it easier to have her "contained" at that age while we worked our way through the crowds. There was a very short window of time in our park touring days where the park strollers worked for our needs.

We always drove & took our own so I can't suggest rental companies, but I know there are TONS of threads here about it if you do a search.

This too. And at DTD as well, if you plan to go there.

We have used Kingdom Strollers twice with 100% satisfaction, and will be using them for the third time next month. :thumbsup2

I purchased a stroller as it was about the same price as renting a Disney stroller. It did 4 trips at WDW and I still have it and it's in great condition. I could probably sell it for more than half what I paid for it.

I bought a Perego P3 from Albeebaby and had it shipped to the resort.

What about buying an inexpensive stroller and having it shipped to the resort? Maybe a First Years Ignite (around $60) or a Jeep Cherokee Sport ($50 at Walmart). You can use it for the week and if you don't want to haul it home, gift it to a family as you're leaving!

I find it easier to fly with a stroller. Than I have it not only to push DS around the crowded airport without worrying and I have a place to hang all my bags at the airport. Than I don't have to worry about renting it and an umbrella stroller to me is easy on the buses. Just my opinion.

Ds6 used a stroller we brought from home. Graco Ipo...it folds small like an umbrella, has a small amount of storage space, and a cup holder. In hindsight, we really could have done with an offsite rental as we only used the stroller at the our home airport when we came home.

I would go offsite rental if you'd like to use it other places than the parks.

I'd also recommend Kingdom Strollers. We've used them twice and I'm debating about a 3rd time. I like that they don't charge for a rain cover or cooler bag. Really liked having the rain cover in August :lovestruc

As others have said, it's much cheaper to rent from an offsite dealer. We've rented from Magic Strollers twice in the last year for our twin grandsons and loved the stroller and the service.

I have a 4yo and a 9yo. My 9 yo is the one to complain that his feet hurt the most! So, most likely they will both be wanting to be in the stroller! He is also the size of a 7-8 yo... and I don't think he will be as comfortable in a regular stroller like a perego or city mini as much as the larger molded ones that disney has. So, for us I think it makes more sense to rent from Disney. I also thought it was easier without lugging it with us.

We have had great experiences with apple strollers, prompt, clean, easy to maneuver and recline all the way down! Plus they are $5 a day!
