Help me decide on hotel for beginning of May

I am thinking of running the Minnie Marathon at the beginning of May and think it may be a good time to take the family (DH, DS (4), DD (6)) to Disney. Disney isn't offering great deals for those running in the race ($125 at Coronado Springs and $99 at one of the values). I am definitely a mod to deluxe person. I have stayed at the POR back in 2002 and I liked it and at WL this past summer. Overall, the WL was a very positive experience, but I got a bit spoiled on a couple of recent trips to DL where we stayed at the DL Hotel and GC (which is AWESOME), so I found the rooms a bit small for us a WL. You now how it is, once you have seen what the best is like, its hard to backwards. This trip I just don't think we will have the funds for a deluxe (maybe AK or WL, but not sure DH will go for it).

Tell me about the four moderate hotels, especially Coronado. Will I be horribly disappointed if I stay there? Which of the moderate resorts has the cleanest rooms? Largest rooms? I don't remember any negatives with trip to POR, but that was before I was able to stay in Deluxe type hotels.

Sorry I'm not help as far as moderates go, but I just wanted to alert you to check the Swan and Dolphin too as they sometimes offer good rates. That area would be good for your family to roam around in (the boardwalk area) while you are in your race. I have not personally stayed at either Swan or Dolphin, but I love the Epcot resort area where they are located.

the CBR has the biggest rooms - same size as WL.

moderates and value has double (full) beds - not queens.

You might try Pop century for that matter - rooms a little smaller - but the money saved generally makes up for it.
