So, we're planning a trip in September. The calendar came out today, so of course, I've already got parks and ADRs penciled in (not that we've actually even booked the trip yet!!). Of course, these are subject to availability, but here's what I'm thinking:

Sat. 9/15: Arrival Day—MK in evening (parade and Wishes) Dinner: ‘Ohana
Sun. 9/16: AK: Dinner ???????
Mon. 9/17: Epcot: Lunch Le Cellier (Illuminations in Evening)
Tues. 9/18: MK all day: Late Breakfast @ ‘Ohana, Evening = MNSSHP, CS Dinner (Columbia Harbor House?)
Wed. 9/19: AK, Dinner: Chef Mickey’s
Thurs. 9/20: DHS, Lunch: Sci Fi Dine In or late breakfast play n' dine @ H&V, (Fanstasmic! In Evening)
Fri. 9/21: MK: Lunch @ 1900 Park Faire, Afternoon back at resort for swimming/laundry/pick up rental car @ DTD
Sat. 9/22: Depart Early for Airport (kids and grandparents)/ Ft. Lauderdale Cruise Terminal (me & DH)

The red restaurants are places or character meals we've never been to (we've been to 1900 Park Faire for dinner, but not for lunch). Other places we've been before: Garden Grill Dinner, Tusker House Breakfast, Teppen Edo, Mama Melrose. We'd like to try something new on the first AK day. I was thinking maybe Boma or Whispering Canyon Cafe??!! Any other suggestions?? My boys will be 6 and 8 at the time of the trip. We're also traveling with my parents, and as you can see from the final day, DH and I are taking a cruise for our 10th anniversary directly after this trip :lovestruc). Any suggestions would be appreciated!! --Katie

I would do Tusker House at AK as it is now a character meal. Plus I love Tusker!!
You said Sept. schedule is out. Where did you see it. I can't find it on any site.

We love Boma's! It's nice to see the animals at night after dinner on the Savannah

We've already done the Tusker House Character Breakfast-- it was fun, so maybe I'll keep that in mind. I feel like we always eat at the same restaurants b/c we like them so much, but then we never try anything new!! Here's the link to the Sept. Calendar (note-- If you've been to this site before, you may have to refresh the page to get 2012 to show up-- your computer may try to bring up a cached copy of the 2011 calendar): http://media.disneywebcontent.com/StaticFiles/DTA-Domestic/pdf/ParkHours/WDW_Operating_Calendar_sept.pdf

We've never been in AKL, either, so I think Boma's is a strong contender! Thanks for the input! --Katie

I would also recommend either Boma or Sanaa. With Boma since it's a buffet I'm sure there will be at least something that everyone will like, but Sanaa is also very good! Even the kids menu was a lot better than some other TS restaurants with an actual filet of fish with rice pilaf as I recall and not the typical fried fare. (Which depending on your kids they may or may not appreciate ;))

Or, since AK closes early how bout using a CS credit and going to DTD and eating at Wolfgang Puck Express? I never get sick of eating there!

I would exit AK and eat an early dinner at Boma. It is a must do for my family.

I have heard GREAT things about Saana although I have never been myself..

The DHS day are you doing the Fantasmic package? if so I would go withe Hollywood Brown Derby or Mama melrose's for the guaranteed seating.. Sci-Fi is fun but is NOT known for their food..
Your last day.. I wouldn't do 1900 just because you have SO many buffets already.. where are you staying?? why not try something over in the boardwalk area.. or the downtown disney area??

On your AK day I would highly recommend either Boma (buffet) or Sanaa (a la carte) at AKL.
On your DHS day, I think the kids would like H&V, but I think EVERYBODY in your party would enjoy Sci-Fi.
On your MK day- Unless something has changed VERY recently, Park Fare doesn't do lunch- just breakfast and dinner. So maybe you could do Whispering Canyon that day?
