I could have sworn that when I checked the dates for UEA last spring that it was scheduled for the following weekend because I remember breathing a big sigh of relief that our trip *wasn't* going to be UEA weekend. Either I saw the wrong dates or they changed it since then. Either way, it sounds like our not-so-high-season trip is going to be crowded!
Thanks for the heads up on what to expect that weekend!
I ordered our MHP tickets last night and now it's really starting to seem real!
At least I am not the only one that thought that UEA wasn't the same week, lol.
We aren't going to be able to afford the MHP this year, we did do the Trick or Treat last year and a had a lot of fun, so I can only imagine how much fun you will have doing something similar at Disneyland itself!!!
FWIW we were there Fall Break last year and the Chocwalk was that weekend too. We didn't actually go to the parks on Sunday we left early that morning to start the drive back home, so I don't know how much it actually effects the parks the day of the walk. It just seemed like people on the boards made a pretty big deal about it last year (I spent a lot of time on here last year since it was our first trip in several years). Its definitely a big enough thing that there are threads related specifically to planning around it.
I haven't seen as many direct references to specific weekends or events this year for some reason. Hopefully that is a good sign that they didn't end up having as big of an impact as anticipated last year. It sounds like there is rarely an off season anymore and maybe these things don't make it any worse than any other week during Halloween now...
My wife works in the school system so we only ever get to go during Holidays and breaks so we don't really know what it is like to go when it isn't busy so it has never really bothered us. If that gives added perspective...
