Please help me pick a new ADR! Here are our current places:

Dinner:
Ohana
Whispering Canyon
Kona Cafe
50's Prime Time
Le Cellier
Coral Reef

Breakfast:
Chef Mickey's
Akershsus Princess Breakfast

I have been long undecided about Coral Reef- mixed reviews, unsure of menu, etc. Today I pulled up All Ears and the menu that I was unsure of has changed- and not for the better!! So I think I am going to have to jump off that ship. Here is the dilemma- we are with a Grand Gathering and the night we are set to go to Coral Reef is EPCOT night- all the families are eating in EPCOT. But no other EPCOT place is speaking to me other than Le Cellier and we are already eating there. My family is not necessarily adventurous as far as food goes- they are pretty much meat and potatoes kind of folk- with the execption of myself.

So- someone please- help me pick another restaurant!

Thanks,
Crystal

You didn't mention when you are going, but may i suggest Alfredo's (in Italy) if you are going before the end of Aug (when it closes for good).

You can walk to the Boardwalk area from EPCOT - lots to choose from over there.:thumbsup2

Our dates are Sept. 15-22, so Alfredo's will be gone. Some possibilities I have looked at are: Garden Grill, Nine Dragons and Concourse Steakhouse. Any reviews on these places? Tell me about some of the Boardwalk restaurants as well!

Thanks,
Crystal

I've heard really good things about Rose & Crown and was thinking about booking it myself. Also, if you're there late enough, it's a great view of illuminations. Go look at their menu and see what you think. Good luck!

I was surprisingly pleased with Rose and Crown on my last trip. The menu when we arrived was however different than the menu on allears.

Garden Grill is our absolute favorite. The food is great and served family style, all you "care to eat". You get some kind of fried white fish, sliced steak and roasted chicken cut up still on the bone plus mashed potatoes, veggies from the garden downstairs in the Land and bread. I don't remember the dessert but I'm sure you can find the menu on line, it used to be strawberry short cake. The kids menu is basic mac and cheese and chicken fingers. You do not order - they just give you the stuff listed above. This is a rotating restaurant and is character dining with Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale dressed in overalls with red kerchiefs.

Warning - my girls loved this place the first few times and last visit they were just about 3 years old and scared to death of all the noises. The restaurant is open to the land boat ride below and there are animal noises that they thougth were loud.

The Chinese place in Epcot is also good but I find it to be the same old food I could have gotten back in MA. We seem to eat there often because we don't usually plan ahead and they seem to be available at the last minute.

Spoodles on the boardwalk is also good but you should check their menu - it might not be basic enough for your crowd and keep in mind that it is a good 10 minute walk from the exit so if you are near Spaceship Earth you will probably need to plan 30 minutes walking to get there (the boat to the boardwalk from Epcot takes about the same amount of time if it leaves soon after you get on).

Good luck and happy eating!

We had a blast at Big River Brew Works at Boardwalk:thumbsup2 . Good burgers and an awesome beer selection:drinking1 ! Nothing fancy, and a good view of the lake and boardwalk....
Enjoy!

Chefs de france would be my choice-

if you arrive before 7 p.m. the 'French menu' is a great choice....

The French Menu
available until 7 p.m.

Soupe a l'oignon gratinee
the classic onion soup topped with Gruyere cheese

Demi poulet fermier a la broche, pommes puree au basilic et tomate braisee
Half of a farm raised rotisserie chicken, basil-flavored mashed potatoes and braised tomato

Creme brulee
Vanilla creme brulee, pistachio madeleine

$29.95

yum yum yum :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9:

If you want a character meal, go with Liberty Tree Tavern. It was our favorite! You could also do Crystal Palace at MK. Does it have to be at Epcot? If it does, sorry, these are all I could come up with. You have chosen some of my favorites from our past trip. Kona and Ohana are wonderful!

Rose and Crown in the UK at Epcot has always been my second favorite Epcot restaurant... second only to Le Cellier :goodvibes
