Trying to decide what table service in Epcot for my family (dh, ds 6, ds 4, dd1). Originally thought chef de france more for hubby and I to enjoy, but wondering how well the kids will tolerate it knowing there are characters out there to meet and rides to ride. they usually behave very well at sit downs so I don't think that will be an issue. So I thought maybe I would change to garden grill for the kids. we are already doing several other character meals for them, and garden grill sounded just ok to me. what would you do with kids this age? Is chef de france something they would enjoy?
thanks for your input....

I second the Chefs. Did GG many years ago and it was good but Chefs was better for the food. If you book early enough in the day, Remy currently visits the table too

I would go with the Garden Grill if I had children the ages of yours. They will love the character interaction there and the food is really good.

We did Chefs de France on our last visit, specifically so our DD age 5 could see Remy from Ratatouille. It was fun!

Of course we also love Garden Grill. Let's put it this way -- you can't go wrong. Either will be great.

We love Garden Grill! Never done Chefs but the kids love the Characters and we all love the food at GG. Plus the kids get a "make your own cupcake" for dessert that's fun! :)

We just ate at Chef's yesterday and its without a doubt the better place. We went for lunch and had lobster bisque, ham & cheese sandwich and creme brulee all for $20

We like Chefs a lot.

We had dinner at Garden Grill in 2008, and it was one of the worst Disney meals we have ever had. No one has asked to return there.

On the other hand, we have two reservations for Chefs next week!

My six-year-old, four-year-old and two-year-old liked Garden Grill the best of all the character meals we've done (we had free dining and did a lot). It's the restaurant my oldest has requested for her birthday meal if we go next year over Thanksgiving. I think they loved getting a good variety of food, since they could eat our food or theirs that was brought family-style, and the whole ride-feel of the moving restaurant and looking at the Land ride. We also had a booth on the lower part which was WONDERFUL with my 2-year-old. At other restaurants he could see the characters coming and would get too excited and not be able to sit still. It was exhausting having free dining with him. At Garden Grill he could only see the characters when they got to the table right next to ours (because of the way the restaurant is curved) and so one table's worth of waiting was exactly right for what he could manage.

Plus the bread they gave us had the most delicious maple-butter, we asked for seconds. :thumbsup2

My kids loved GG when they were younger. We've been there several times, and the characters spent a lot of time with us. My son (now 15) still talks about one of the chipmunks getting "scolded" by the waitress for being silly with us. Now that they are teens, they like Chefs.

Just back from a trip w/my 5yo. Wasn't impressed with Garden Grill. Thought it was loud, hectic, and the food was just ok. I like the vibe at Chef Mickey's, but this was loud without the fun for us.
