I currently have 2 cruises on hold for 2017...with a big price difference! I'm trying to decide between a 5 night double dip next June, or a 4 night cruise next August. Both cruises are on the Dream, same stateroom. The price difference is 2500$ :scared: I've done a double dip in the past and LOVED going to Castaway Cay twice, but not sure if that extra day at Castaway is worth that much more. BUT I've been wanting to do another double dip for a while, and was disappointed when they didn't offer them this year.

Anyway, just looking for some opinions. What would you do??pirate: :hyper2:

Well, besides the extra day at Castaway Cay, you're getting another day on the ship, right? Be sure to count that in the extra cost.

Personally, I prefer longer over shorter cruises, so the 5 night would win out over the 4.

I was pondering the same thing not too long ago and the 4-night won out. I love CC, but it isn't worth the extra $2500. Heck, at that price tag, I can almost go on a second Dream cruise.

I would also not pay $2500 for an extra day. That's an expensive day! :)
I guess it really boils down to how much the extra CC day is worth to you though.

That's a good chunk of money for the privilege of being onboard one extra day and going to CC. You could use that money for a visit to WDW pre or post cruise!

I've done both and thought the double dip was much better. I feel like one day at castaway cay is not enough! Plus the 2nd day at Castaway was MUCH less crowded even though the weather was perfect both days. Also I personally feel that 5 nights is the perfect amount of time on the cruise. We did 7 day and it felt too long, and 4 days felt a little short.

I'm sure many people on this board would agree that a double dip is much better. The issue is whether that extra day is worth $2,500! I say NO WAY!

Yeah, I think it's pretty pricey, also. Probably the difference from June to August figures in there, too.

If I had to make a choice, I'd look into a less costly room for the 5 night. Or suck it up and go for the 4 night.

It does seem pretty pricey... And if for some reason (weather and/or currents) the ship is unable to get into the channel to dock at Castaway, it's not like you're getting that amount refunded because you didn't get the double dip...

Well the port fees would be refunded. And any cancelled excursions costs.

Right. But they're not going to refund anything from the base price. So in that case it would pretty much be a $2500 sea day. Just something to be aware of.

Well, guess I would do the 4 night August, coupled with a 3 night August (BTB) and get my 2 days at Castaway Cay. The 3 night August cruises on the Dream start at $ 1,526 so I would have 7 nights for $ 1,100 less than the June 5 night double dip. :beach:
