Help me decide - CCV, BCV or CR

DD9 and myself are planning a last minute trip leaving late next week. Since deluxe resort rates are fairly affordable right now with the AP discount, we have decided to try a few resorts we haven't stayed at before. We are planning on doing a split stay between 2 resorts. One of the resorts we have decided to try is OKW (1 bedroom), but I can't decide on the 2nd resort. I've narrowed it down to CCV (studio), BCV (studio), or CR (garden wing). I know resort choices are very subjective, but I thought I would hear what you all have to say. Bring on your comments! :p

It is all about location and what parks you are visiting. CCV & CR are great for MK access while BCV is great for access to Epcot and HS. They all have a bus to AK so no location benefit for AK.

BCV has somewhat limited food options at this time while CCV has 3 options and CR has 3-4 options if you consider Chef Mickey's for breakfast.

We are planning on visiting all parks, some multiple times. For the CR, I like the idea of being able to walk to MK and the number of restaurant options. For CCV, I like the WL and its theming. Now that I think about it, while the BCV is close to our favorite parks, I don't want to deal with the limited food options. Also, I believe Stormalong Bay is closed, right? As I'm typing my thoughts out, it seems like BCV may not be the ideal choice at the moment.

Yes SAB is still closed and we don't know if it will reopen when YC is scheduled to open on Aug. 24.

BCV would be great if you could easily enter Epcot in the evenings for dining but with Park Pass reservations and no park hopping it is limiting. Once more things open on Crescent lake there will be more food options near by but not in the same building.

My husband and I love CCV! We stayed there for the first time and December and my husband said he doesn't want to stay anywhere else (of course we've stayed other places since...). Even though we don't love MK, there is a lot of food options and the resort is so relaxing. We love eating at Geyser Point and relaxing by the water!

It sounds like you’re deciding between CCV and CR.

I love the rooms at CCV, and the WL feel and theming. I stayed in a studio at BLT once, and while I liked the bigger room and the layout, I don’t think I’d rush to go back. One major issue for us is a major perk for others. Many people love the fact that you can walk to MK. We enjoyed that perk to an extent (we walk a lot regularly so that was no problem), but in the extreme summer heat it went from you can walk to MK to you have to walk to MK (unless you want to take the monorail all the way around).

One day we walked back from MK to BLT and I realized I forgot to stop by guest services on our way out. It was so hot, and I just didn’t have it in me to make the trip there and back again, so I went on the monorail on my own all the way around. I needed the A/C!

This was our experience only, so take it with a grain of salt, but we’re huge fans of CCV and enjoy the boat ride to MK!

(edited to correct a typo!)

I like theme so much better at Wilderness than Contemporary in general, and since you'd be in garden wing at CR which doesn't have the fun feel of the tower, I feel that makes it a no brainer to do CCV. Also: don't forget the Epcot monorail is shut down, so transportation options between CR and CCV are a wash: both have convenient access to MK and buses everywhere else.

If SAB were open, I’d go with BCV, but since it’s not, my vote would be CCV. I’ve never stayed in a studio at CC, but have stayed at the WL and we love it! As someone mentioned above, there are more food options right now at CCV than BCV, and the theming of the resort is wonderful.

Oh you can't go wrong with either CCV or CR. The atmosphere of CCV is so relaxing, but the studios are pretty small. On the other hand the CR garden wing rooms are huge and you can't beat that walk to magic kingdom. The CCV rooms all have balconies. The CR rooms on the first floor will have a walk out, but the upper stories will not have a balcony. Both are gorgeous.

Thanks everyone! I think I'm going to leave the final decision up to my daughter since both resorts are at the same price point. (I'll show her photos of both, and see which one she chooses.) I'm okay with either CCV or CR. I've stayed at the WL lodge before, but my daughter was too young to remember it when we were there last.

Agreed about SAB - I wouldn't hesitate to stay at BCV if it were open!

My two cents is the Contemporary. Due to the close walk to MK, with the social distancing you may wait a boat, or bus or two before you can either get to the park, or at the end of the day. I don't know how many busses I could watch load and leave before I would just be done in.

We are staying at BLT this weekend and visiting CR pool right now. I would highly favor CCV over CR for pool and dining. We also happen to like the boat ride. If walking to MK is important then CR but that is the ONLY reason I would choose CR.

Thanks everyone for your input! After all of this discussion, we decided not to do a split stay after all, so it's OKW for the entire trip. This is due to the larger space and washer/dryer in the room and is essentially close to the price point of the others. We're planning another trip at Thanksgiving, so we'll try one of the others then...
