Help me decide between Fort Wilderness or Port Orleans-Riverside

It is my understanding (someone will come along and correct me if I'm wrong) that the campsites are not eligible for any Disney discount/promotion. There are a number of sites that are eligible for discount with AAA membership, FL resident discount, or Annual Pass discount.

Okay, this a neurotic camping question. My DH would roll his eyes at me if he knew I was asking this question. If we are in a pop-up and there is a thunder/lightening storm, should we be okay in the pop-up or should we move everyone to our Jeep? We have a soft-top Jeep, so I don't know how much protection that would offer. When we were tent camping at the beach a few weeks ago, we had a nasty thunder/lightening storm pass through at night and I made us all move to the van. It just seemed dumb to me to stay in the tent if we had more adequate shelter. After it passed, we went back to the tent.

As long as the winds arent strong enough to roll the pop-up over.....you're fine in it. I love to hear the rain beating on the canvas with the bass of thunder rolling in the background....add the visual excitement of a natural light show and you've got all the ingredients for natures best concert!!

We have road out some severe thunder storms in our popup, torrential rains and even some hail, without mishap. But what I watch out for is strong winds. Not so much because of being in a popup but for fear of falling branches or trees. The comfort stations would be a good place to ride out a storm.
